System Pics 2021

A flexible LED lamp could just clip on the edge of rack. About a tenner from e- bay

It looks ready for a Dusty Springfield listening session😉

Oh god no. It’s playing Supertramp right now. Prince - Sign O’ The Times when the pic was taken.

Even dusty as hell it looks better than the Atom IMO. Heck, that dust is a visual argument against external heatsinks and top mounted volume dials.

As it should be, set and forget :+1:

Not sure that can be said. The trees in the forest/woods are not there just for all the local wood burners, but are needed for so much other CO2 crap we are producing. I think they can only be considered carbon neutral if you can offset the extra CO2 emissions in other ways - perhaps another thread may be best to take this further

You also need a very good Chimney to ensure all the particulates don’t get into your Naim system (OK, just added that to link to the thread-ish)

The new speakers are in the House … Perfect

We have so many forests around and only a handful of houses. There is no industry at all in the valley. The air is so pure. The forest is mainly communale with some being sold off. Some private for people that rely heavily on wood for heating (dual mode with oil or wood).
The wood burner is not in the new extension where we have the Naim system but in a dining area.

Beautiful speakers mate.
1,5 years ago I was that close to buy the classic 35 in glass white.
Unfortunately they were very “civilized” for my music taste & I ended with the more “bullie” behaviour ovator s-600.
Anyway I really love the Audio Physic speakers.
They are gorgeous!!!

I’m having a massive fireplace being constructed here today … loads of local wood, mostly from my own land. Use dry wood, ignite at the top and hardly any pollution is caused.

Nothing else will suffice… only dry hard woods and not much pine wood to creosote the chimney. Only sparingly and used as a fire lighter.
We have hours of enjoyment in front of ours.

Hard to imagine anything that would match your room better than those - nice job. Enjoy!

Hi @Debs, I notice from your profile you have a fine system feeding into those SBLs and that you use Kudos KS-1 speaker cable? How do you find this cable? Did it replace NACA5 speaker cable?

Thanks.

I went from 2x7m naca 5, to 2 x 5m of KS-1. Both sets professionally terminated with naim plugs.

KS-1 is definitely an improvement over naca5, not massively but noticeable especially with more in focus mids & upper-bass, higher frequencies easier on the ear too, and nothing not to like, no disadvantages at all.
Plus it costs less than naca5 and it’s very easy to flex :slightly_smiling_face: :+1:

Thanks - that’s interesting and encouraging. I currently use Mogami 2972 which I preferred to NACA5, but I’d noticed a lot of favourable comments about KS-1 on this forum and this had piqued my interest. Like you I also have SBLs, so your comments have given me some food for thought.

My question is how does it square with the Naim amps requiring a particular inductance/low capacitance like the appropriate length of NACA5 does?
