No a new one on me!

They only produced headphones for about 2 years then shutdown the whole hi fi department. They’re great headphones.

Are they electrostatics? I think they remind me of some from years back

Yes open back.

Looks great @Dunc. Good move separating the DCS boxes. As others have said the only issue with your set up is that pine cabinet so close to the right Fact 12. Is there any way you can get rid of that or would it threaten domestic harmony?

Have tried to remove it a few times, but it’s a no.
I have managed to work around it to the best I can, I feel. But I know it could be better, but it’s better to have my set up in this room over the back room as I get to play music when I like, so like most things, it’s a trade off
But luckily it’s a well made solid oak unit from a very good maker, so it doesn’t rattle too much.

everytime i see Blades, (not often as i am from a country with sun and no school on winter sports)
reminds me of Tom Hanks in Cast Away movie, and what he did with them…

Gone.

Temporary speakers for lockdown, I couldn’t justify spending up to 5k on speakers I can’t listen to before purchasing.

They are really rather good, quite neutral, transparent and revealing of source, recording and amplifier.

The AV system - made much better with the addition of a new (to me) Piega S4c centre speaker. It stores away in the cabinet when not in use.

Now just to upgrade the rear speakers and job done.

They are superb value.

We have the same Telly. I bought it for its build quality and the likelihood that it survives kids throwing things around.

Highly tempted for my office!

Yes they are great aren’t they - the build quality is vastly superior to alternatives, though there is a price premium. Funnily enough our son did throw a stone at it when he was 2 years old - it survived thankfully!

This one replaced our Xelos 26 that is now in the children’s play room - still going strong after 16years :crossed_fingers:. Here it is pictured with our little Denon system.

I then replaced the speakers (safely boxed away) with another set of the earlier UK-made Denon by Mission speakers bought from eBay with slight cabinet damage and wrapped them with a vinyl carbon wrap - I am quite pleased with the result - we can change them around to suit our mood😉

Also a chc PSU? Very nice. Also the rack!

Nice! Is that iron man in the corner?

I can’t say, probably. You could maybe find details on the new Artisan audio shop in Switzerland.

Thanks - yeah the CHC is superbly built and sounds brilliant.

The rack is a Stands Unique rack, which is unfortunately a company who in recent years stopped trading. Quite a lot of their racks out there - minimalist, work great, good glass shelves with brass/silicone dampers and I have quite a few sets of brass/carbon isolators under components (and a few with IsoAcoustics pucks under them too).

I am considering refinishing the cherry wood to a darker stain potentially but it actually matches my cherry Rega RS3 speakers I used in that system.

The compromise

No one ever sits in the exact sweet spot since it falls between the two armchairs. Nevertheless, the music sounds delicious and flowing so there is no incentive to rearrange the furniture.
