You guys seem to have had fun last night. Did the day of summer fry everyone’s brains?

Great choice, in white.

Best, C.

Thank :slightly_smiling_face:you

Risky if you spend any time around old motorcycles.

Beautiful photo!

God and I get chipped for the odd thread drift.

I’d rather a forum full of people with personalities than boring old farts that seem to have lost all their sense of humour and feel the rest of us need policing.

Still enjoying the Nova!

Looks lovely James…Dare I ask how the Linn Klimax DSM/3 compares to the NDX 2?

Your ears should have been burning last week. I was in a fireplace shop in Aylesham (Norfolk), showing them your fireplace/room setup.

I am! :joy:

My DSTOM , bought in the 70s -and made in Greece and seemingly with a serial number.

TT is a ClearAudio Emotion

Still sounds good, though I was thinking of getting the SACD (I have a Universal Disc Player)

It would be fascinating to play the SACD on the CD player (CDX 2.2 digital output) against a full blown SACD player

The X2s (on Herbie’s Gliders) doing their business with the Atom. Art Pepper, yay!

The cheap yellow Ethernet cable has now been replaced by a beautiful black-and-white fabric-covered S/FTP Ethernet cable with Telegartner-style plugs (also trivially inexpensive and seen discretely hanging in the background; not the hideous long 20 m grey wire lying undressed on the floor, used when wifi in the home office isn’t up to snuff). I also bought a white-and-black one: will report if I can hear a difference, as these things are always in shades of grey…

The small black box to the side is a step down transformer, which is working rather well during our time in Europe with a North American Atom: no issues to report. Endorsed for anyone living elsewhere temporarily.

BTW you may want to move your Vodafone router away from your speaker especially if it’s being used with Wi-Fi enabled.

Thanks @Mr.M … what effect do you think might be happening? We are in an apartment here in Munich with little to no flexibility on placement / different connection points. I could slide it over midway between the speakers / under the TV now that I have all these cool long cables to use up. But tbh, I don’t hear any sort of interfere, and the wifi speed doesn’t seem to be compromised. Interested to hear more!

The magnets in the speaker are a source of interference primarily, ideally you want to place a Wi-Fi router as high up in the room as possible, if it’s xDSL service just get a longer RJ11 cable between the Vodafone service point and your router.

And now… 72 and A20 by day. Excuse the mess underneath next to the Hi-Cap!

Hi David,

It’s a bit better :grinning: The NDX2 is a fantastic player though, but life is too short to wait for products that may or may not appear.

Funnily enough I thought of you this time last week as I diverted through Wroxham to get round some traffic on my way back home. Lovely place.

Good luck with the fireplace. Look forward to seeing piccies of the end result :+1:

James
