They are indeed Seakayaker, a wonderful speaker that’s getting even better each day.

If you send them the colour , they will match it

Maybe you left part of your brain in a small field in Hampshire :innocent:

I had to research “Woodchip” - In the US its known as popcorn or orangepeel

Back-Up system as daughter is back home and sofa bed in “listening room” means my main rig is out of bounds.

I used to have wall mounted n-sats with a SuperUniti in this room 5 years ago pre a full retrofit.

These KEF LS50(ii) have to be pulled out for listening and pushed back when the room reverts to a TV room but it’s great to have an option to listen to a few albums a day in decent quality.

SJB, How would you compare these KEFs to the n-Sats? I ask because they intrigue me, and I have thought about them for my second system. (Someday.)

New? What happened to your old stuff, trade in?

272 is going out. 555psdr sold. 552 and I forever and ever.

“With popcorn on the wall” does have a certain ring to it.

The German word is even worse: RAUHFASER. Sounds like a tank or something.

Hi “Segelmatt”, it is easy to make cheap jokes about other languages, isn´t it? Do you think these stereotypical statements are really appropriate?

As long as it is my own language I think it’s OK.

To me, it is not, because it shows a lack of respect, cheap stereotypes and I fear this would lead to these old, old prejudices. Just think about it. This has nothing to do with your passport.

What you basically do here is that you tell us - non brits - that only English humour is ok.

Now to use a patronising phrase: ‘think about it’.

Good grief! System pics anybody?

We’re talking musical memory here from five years ago, and as the n-sats were wall mounted, they were probably not optimal from a sound quality perspective. However, having said all that I think the KEFs are a wonderful pair of the speakers. If I had to make a choice it would certainly be the KEFs. Whether that is purely based on functionality included, it’s hard to say, as the n-sats are great speakers too.

The, albeit limited, DSP in the KEFs where you can specify whether it is near a wall, on a bookshelf or a stand, size of room, and whether the room is lively or damp, etc. does make setting them up, optimally a much easier task and makes them very room friendly

they really did sound marvellous last night-room filling sound where the speakers just disappeared.

And to be able to change the volume, play and pause them from the RooWatch app on my Apple Watch was just the icing on the cake!

Always thought of KEF Metas and a matching sub- woofer as an ideal option for those who wanted the plus elements of stand mounts but the depth of bass of floor standers

Lol, right
