System Pics 2022

I can see the magic dust sprinkled over your shelf and components…does that help? :grinning:

Nice to see you’re weighting the bottom of the rack with that Microsoft ballast weight.
That’s good repurposing, or are you actually using it🤔

No it’s not plugged in. It was waiting to go on eBay but I couldn’t be bothered so when tidying the kitchen (where it was living) I shoved it there about a year ago. I think of it as an ornament.

Hi,
I hope when you listen to music you cover the TV with a light blanket, if not, it is more than recommended to do so.
The reason is this - prevention of repeated waves, at one of the critical points of the speakers.

My old Olives are still alive and well. Upgrades since last years pic are:

Mose/Herc 2 → Akurate Radikal 1. Improvements as you would expect.
WH Phantom → WH Spectre. Improvements better than expected.

Content with my system now. No further upgrades planned for the near future, but……

Why are they PURPLE?:flushed:

Anodising defect I guess. I’m sure they were Olive once.

Those speakers look like they might be Troels Gravesens?

Finally got round to mounting the the rebuilt (with Gyger S) Proteus. This will do to run it in, in fact it’s sounding huge, I don’t think azimuth will need much tweaking, nor anything else much either but I’ll give it 50 hours and play with it further.

My wife would love them.
She’s always had a thing for Purple.
She had a special edition Purple BMW a few years back. :joy:

Yes about 200 to an external HD

Your system looks wonderful. Loving the Radikal edition. What tone arm is on the LP12?

Hi @Dan_M , thank you and it’s a Basik Plus for now.

Thanks for reply and apologies as a slightly loaded question. You may have seen a long string of correspondence regarding drop outs on music ripped by the Unity Star. There was even a question over whether any of them did it without problems as one sufferer on his third Star. Appears to be some sort of firmware problem. Have you experienced this problem at all please? If not, I am curious to know more detail to ensure that it’s not related to anything external that I am doing. One thing is that you are using a hard drive rather than NAS or solid state? Is this powered from the USB socket on Star? Problem is parked with dealer at present but would appreciate any help.
