Yes, these are all picture discs, that I bought as a teenager and recently framed up for display. Here’s the other wall (I’ve a few more, but ran out of wall space):
Nice. I actually own the same Assassing and Punch and Judy picture discs. Purchased on their respective release dates. Takes me back
Yes, Mk1 stands and Mk1 Kans. The speaker cable is NACA4 for the complete experience.
(Also a lot easier to hide the necessary minimum length under the rack)
Less of a wait as well
same here!
Have a few those discs myself but somebody stole my ‘Assassing’ during a house party so sadly not the full set.
Just had a look on eBay.
Just checked myself, theres a large price difference for the US ones for some reason.
If you have $20k burning a hole in your wallet, listen to the K10s. I had your speakers in my house and loved them, but decided to go for the 10’s. The K6s are superb, but the scale of the 10s is amazing.
K10s’ are on my list and I have no doubt they are amazing. It is difficult to put into words how good the K6 Signatures are. I describe them as “Quads with bass” as there is so much texture and detail from the ribbon tweeter. The bass performance is also impressive for such small drivers. Stewart Tyler was a genius speaker designer. Anyone shopping for speakers in this price range needs to audition.
Couldn’t agree more. I am a committed DBL active person, and the K6 sig was the first speaker as a poss replacement that I really enjoyed, forget all the usual analytics. I agree with your description, and would just add that they were really fast.
…And an additional comment from my side with regards to the ribbon tweeter — it is nowhere near being harsh or analytical, many people are cautious and go for the dome (in the lower product range), but it has been implemented so seamlessly, integration with the mid driver is simply genius. I have a modest D2R, but the fact that this very tweeter is standard in K series speaks enough for its performance.
As a former DBL owner I know how good they can be. The K6 Signature comes closest to that uncompressed musical sound I remember from my DBL days.
Wonderful dog!
So the Airplug makes a noticable difference?
Is it a special kind of Airplug you use for your superline?
Or the one to order from Cymbiosys fex?
But I guess there is an own thread here?
By the way, I have recaped my superline, but for much less then your offer at Naim Hq. Must be because of the US marked? Now it is again over 1 year in the system and sings on the end of a supercap DR
Boris (the dog) says thank you. He’s 14 years and quite a character.
Which picture is the speakers?
Do you have a full circle at home?
An early design concept from Salisbury…? I like the idea of it being carved from stone and larger than actual size. In more recent years the design concepts were carved from polystyrene and a fair bit smaller than the end product.
a full circle would make a great music hall
