FR, rather than divert the System Pics thread, you might want to think about opening a dedicated thread in the Lounge?
Hi Richard,
he already did that: Tiles vs floating parquet vs both - #13 by feeling_zen
Yes, I’ve just moved it over to the Lounge.
Not intended to do it now. Will follow your advices BD.
Sorry, but I didn’t wanted to discuss it more. However people responded. But you are right.
Beautiful speaker
What wonderful looking speakers. I googled them out of curiosity and couldn’t find any info - can you tell us a bit more about them.
Enjoy
Gary
What a nice speaker and a good match with the cupboard.
That’s a fantastic place - mind the speaker cables though and don’t tip over…
Or hit your head on the beams…I’m 6’5" and this is a daily occupational hazard!
Nice room by the way!
Fabulous room although that black sub is a tad too big for my liking.
The 280 sounds very good - but if you use a Fraim the depth of the unit is a bit of a problem. And there is only a few mm to spare in a std height shelf … but here you can always replace the shelf spacers.
First post here. Have been reading and gaining info for some time. Have built up a nice system that is finally finished in its first iteration. Mostly picked up second hand after inheriting a Naim NAP 250 DR. I couldn’t stretch to a Supernait 3, or indeed what I want to finally upgrade to (a NAC 252) but am super happy with the Nait XS3, with the Hi-Cap DR and the 250DR it just sounds incredible. Such presence and purity.
I added a NAT 05, which when connected to our existing aerial is really a joy to listen to, very detailed and dynamic.
I also bought a Rega P6 after having various second hand Linn Sondek LP12s auditions. I just didn’t find them as convincing as the Rega.
A Soundline was then added to achieve the MC input. The turntable is again quite the revelation, especially with Sinatra and the gang. Wow!
Finally a DAC V1 was picked up and plugged in today. It is really a massive step up from my iPhones DAC with hires audio from Tidal. Just detail, resolution and taught focus yet richness at the same time. Again just sensational.
How does the Technics compare to your 333?
I don’t think by any objective HiFi metric it does compare BUT that doesn’t mean I enjoy using it any less. I do think it’s held back by the Stageline however.
Sometimes, it can have me up dancing around like a loon. I don’t really think about imaging; soundstage, HF definition etc. It just sounds ‘right’.
Sorry should have added the speakers are Mission 753 originals. They seem to bring out the wonderful warmth of the Naim components.
Welcome to the Forum. Just for your info, if you touch the three dots on your post, you see options to edit or delete. It’s a nice setup, though I wonder if it’s possible to get the speakers a bit further apart, and their fronts clear of the front of the rack. It should sound a lot better, and best of all there is no expenditure involved.
