I’m not sure it’s as cut and dry as that. The SCM range grilles are designed to have minimal (read zero) noticeable detrimental impact on the acoustics of the loudspeaker, even in a highly treated room. Safety and aesthetics are the primary determinants I guess.

Just took delivery of second Denafrips Enyo 15th in front of Wiim streamer for the Nait 50.

New for 2026 arrived a day early, I chose the 1200g over the newer 1300g as the magnesium arm on the 1200g and better finished top on the plinth in comparison to the 1300g, oh and with the current discount only £500 difference for the 1200g.
Just need to choose a new cartridge.

November 2025 the NVCTT was swapped for the NAIT 50 just for “fun”.
Liked it so much I swapped the NSC222/NC250 for a new NSS33.
This may be my favorite setup ever.
Same as me then (Nait 50 & 333 although I also have 555PSDR on it).

what a great system you have. Looking at your pic today I thought “ I have seen a full statement system and I don’t recall the S1 being taller than the Statement amps”
Then I realized it was your black 808- which really echoes the aesthetics of the Statement boxes.
We have the same source, let’s hope that 3.12 gives us what we want.
