If I still had a multibox hifi system I’d have it on a pukka rack. They make such a difference and I’d want to get the best out of the equipment. If done well it can look very good. The little one box systems really don’t need a dedicated system support, which is a nice thing about them. Neither approach is better, they are just different. To slightly counter the wifely control thing, Mrs HH was perfectly happy with a stack of Fraim in the corner; it was me who wanted to get rid of it.
Lovely piece of furniture!
That is a fine piece. I have proper sideboard envy!
I agree, nice. But not mine, only serving the joke. ![]()
My Croft Micro 25 preamp, Series 7 amplifier, Lindemann Network on their extremely posh, cardboardy, highly audiofool stand. Sounds lovely into Duevel Venus speakers.
My kit would look good on that….![]()
Hi @frenchrooster @ratrat @higgsie @The_Lecht_Rocks @cb01 @Ferg20 @Sandy8 @kend @badlyread @GraemeH
You good people all have wonderful systems on some lovely looking items of furniture. Would you be willing to post a pic on the ‘Show us your furniture’ thread? I would be most grateful to you.
Edit: I should add there are several others I would have included but couldn’t because I was limited to 10 names by the software.
Why…
They are still system pictures…
And more interesting than endless pictures of stuffed racks, and upside down shelves…
If you do not like a post, simply scroll past, as you will this I guess.
Systems Pics is such a great source - for ideas and design inspiration - what ever type of stand / rack / cabinet - you care to use, as well as listening rooms and cosy lounges…
It makes a lot of sense these days in a living space with the amount of quality and functionality you can get out of compact hifi gear.
Nothing new so far this year.
Just a better camera phone with hopefully a better quality picture

I recently decided to simplify and modernize my system. I used to have a Nait 5i-2, CD5i-2 and ProAc Response D1 speakers but I replaced those with a Uniti Atom HE and Genelec G Three active speakers. Also in the pictures is a Pro-Ject RPM5.1 turntable + Clearaudio Nano Phono which remained from my old system and my latest acquisition, ZMF Atrium headphones.
Neat set up!
Your Steinway is simply gorgeous… When I’m not listening to professional musicians, I make noise on my Kawai K300 upright. I retired 5 years ago and started to play piano, taking weekly courses.

Gorgeous! I have a Long Island Steinway L from the 1920s. I play less now (fingers and time), but I have it tuned every 6 months just in case.
What type of courses?
Professional teacher at my place. I started from scratch - Where’s middle C? 5 years later I’m intermediate player and we’re focusing more and more on classical pieces. Does that answer your question?
Yep
