I have a plan to buy an Accuphase DP-450 after a bit of saving to match with my new Accuphase E5000. Before this purchase I’m looking to buy a stop gap CD player.
Could you suggest good new or preowned without breaking the bank options?

What kind of a ‘stop gap’? You clearly have a good system so anything super cheap will (probably) not do.
As has been said, something like an Audiolab CD player would perhaps be a minimum. Get one s/h of the bay. Should be reasonably easy to move on afterwards.
Do you have a laptop/games console could Just use that if it’s only temporary,
I use a Blu-ray player - they usually have very good transports

It really depends on the time you will using this stop gap CD player. If it will be for say a couple of years then there is a case for getting something a bit better. On the other hand if it’s only for say 6 months or so then something a lot more modest could suffice. You really don’t want to be wasting too much money on something that you will be replacing.
Unless it’s really going to be years rather than months before you can get the Accuphase then I would go for a Marantz CD6007 at around £350. It’s a good solid budget player and has had excellent reviews. I have a bit of a soft spot for Marantz. If it’s going to be years then take your pick. Something from Audiolab or Arcam would be as good as anything, or indeed a better player from Marantz.
Here’s another suggestion though. I see you have a Linn Select DSM and an LP12. So you’ve got music no matter what. If you really can’t wait for the new Accuphase and make do without CD until then, which frankly to me seems by far the most sensible way forward, then how about getting a little Denon DM41 micro system? These are really excellent. We have one in our kitchen which my wife uses all the time she’s in there and it’s fabulously entertaining. Just have this somewhere so that you can play CD’s when you want and then when you’ve got your Accuphase it can be re-purposed as an excellent little second system somewhere. So no money wasted.

And possible better an Accuphase on sheer musicality.
If a low budget, then one of those from Rotel, Cambridge or Marantz possibly. A bit more gets you an exdem. Gold Note CD5 if you look around. They are marvellous.

Honestly if a stop gap is less than 18 months, why bother? Be patient and bide your time and save your pennies.

I agree with Zen you have such a fine amplifier it will not respond well to lesser cd players.
I have the cd 450 at the moment playing through c2150 pre into e650 amp. So all Accuphase.
I have thought to change the 450 into the 570 but I do notice that if the original cd was not very well recorded and mastered even my set up will find any fault. So I am not sure whether to jump or not.

Sorry but my suggestion was not right as it is only a transport. I use it to good effect into an NSS333. There is a player version simply called a vrds701.
It may sound amazing but those grab handles are horrendous, who ever thought they added anything to the looks of the player must have been on something.

I suspect so. It’s a very weird affectation on TEAC in recent years. They aren’t practical either. They are too small to get your hand through.
They are are slightly less obtrusive on the 500 range but still weird. On the 500 range, you can’t even get a finger through.
Everything about the TEAC build quality, performanc, fascia, is nice except those handles. Even their pro TASCAM range doesn’t have them.
