I’ve been thinking of raising a thread in which members are invited to list those albums they’d not like to be without. I wonder if it’s the same as this list? In my case I’m sure that list would be a lot longer.

It would be way too long for me.

How do you access the list of ‘My most played albums’ in Qobuz or the Naim app?

Far away from my Roon right now, but go to the Home screen and then scroll down.

In the Naim app there is not such an option.

Sorry I do not use Qobuz.

Ah - I don’t have Roon - only the Naim app, or the Qobuz app.

It’s a difficult question for me to answer by guesswork because I rarely play whole albums these days.

I often scroll through my lists of favourites on the Naim app and put together a selection of tracks that appeals to me on the spot.

What made you change? I rarely do otherwise than play whole albums, and can’t imagine enjoying not.

It was normal with vinyl and CDs to play whole albums.

When I began streaming about four years ago, and sold my Naim CD player and RP3 to fund a Naim streaming system, I realised that an album is just a musician or producer’s playlist.

I do sometimes listen to whole albums, but finding the right thing to play nowadays means browsing through albums and tracks and playing whatever appeals to me at that moment.

Not in order and it’ll probably be different tomorrow.

Young Americans - Bowie
Blue Mask - Lou Reed
Meddle - Pink Floyd
Oceans Apart - The Go Betweens
Abbey Road - The Beatles
Western Stars - Bruce Springsteen
Goodbye Jumbo - World Party
Help - The Beatles
Serpentine Prison - Matt Berninger
Zuma - Neil Young.

For those using Roon to work this out it’s a little flawed as it uses the time played per album rather than the play count.

Longer albums played infrequently can appear much higher up the list than shorter albums played more often.

Thats odd… I know I have played Max Richter’s ‘Sleep’ in full twice, at 8 hours long thats 16+ hours so it should be in my list but is missing…

The Roon list surprises me …

Then again so does a similar list of favourite artists. I would have put Sandy Denny / Fortheringay at the top of both.
