I have been mulling over best part sixty years of concerts. With the title using âgigâ rather than concert, I guess I exclude John Williams and the Kingâs Singers. Buddy Rich? Was that the music or the emotion, I got to sit in the front row next to his daughter and met him after.
Then, Quintessance at the Vic Rooms in Bristol, at the time they were reputed to have the best light show of the UK touring bands. Certainly memorable.

Possibly one of the best I didnât actually see. As a student I would travel from college in Cheltenham to my girlfriendâs in Woolacombe. Depending on the day and time of year there was a coach change, possibly at Taunton. There was a cinema/hall next to the bus station and the lay over was about ninety minutes. Chicken Shack were playing, all the doors were open and the sound sat at the coffee booth in the station was very good. But, I only heard themâŚ
