I agree that Doors Management under Jampol has gone loopy and rather than legacy is more interested in profit- led idiocy…witness the garbage of branding, dribs and drabs of music releases, probable lies and misinformation etc. I’d love to know what Botnick really thinks of it all, let alone Densmore and Kreiger.
I think had he lived, Morrison would’ve thrown the current DM off of that Sunset Strip balcony a long time ago.
While not having an extended range, JM was an incredible singer with outstanding vocal command, stage presence, and confidence. Quite poetic in lyrics, life, and death. I’d call him a true artist that definitely wasn’t in it for the money. By all accounts very intelligent, despite his infamous behavior. Likely in an alcoholic and hallucinogenic stupor the final 4-5 years of his life. Great band! Blending jazz, blues, rock, pop, and psychodelia into a sound that helped shape the culture of the late 60s. The Doors are among my top bands and my 29 yo son is also a huge fan.
I just got a copy of Paris Blues on vinyl, but can’t seem to find the album as a download except for the title track. Can anyone point me in the direction of the full digital album?
