The expression of everything, new 1/4 video on Naim YouTube channel

Thanks! Naim has a YouTube channel? Will wonders never cease

Rather odd video - the two were largely talking different things, and the analogy of a modular synthesiser to represent modular power supplies simply doesn’t work as the synth is adding more creative capability whereas the power supply is making the unit powered perform better. I’m not sure what it is supposed to convey other than that the core Naim design and upgrade process is based on adding power supplies.

Musicians rarely have decent HiFi it seems to me. I enjoyed the video. O’Donnell clearly appreciated the Naim sound and the benefit of the power supply but clearly had no intention of improving his own system, assuming he even has one at home. Hoping the next guest has a little more interest in music in the home.

I think they should have invited O’Donnell’s brother instead! :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Episode 2 is now available…….. at least it’s a little shorter.

JG - use more boxes, sounds better….

R O’D - yeah, OK if you say so……

Perhaps, unsurprisingly, this is turning into an uncomplicated and predictable marketing plug for NC, first 222/250, then 333/332/250 and I guess next episode will be 332/333/350 +/- NPX 300’s to taste.

I mean, it’s just really so obvious, the more you spend the more you get, what would you expect?

I see no interest in this video. If the guest was an audiophile, in the sense that he owns a high end system, it would be much more interesting.

WHY didn’t they play Plainsong!?

The look on O’Donnell’s face when he hears the 300 is lovely to see. Video 3 should be a beauty.

Really interesting to listen to JG’s comments in this video, https://youtu.be/lgWzKSrD1pg?feature=shared and compare them with those in Parts 1 & 2 of the current series……..

And even more so in this….. https://youtu.be/PXbxPfilZhU?feature=shared

Of course these were made before the 300 Series was released .

Episode #3 released this evening, best yet! RO’D is a really funny guy and entertaining throughout.

Might have to buy his new album too……

The concept / idea / illusion of space between instruments as the system developed is one not emphasised enough when listening. IMHO. I noticed foot tapping reduced as the system improved too. What can we expect in episode 4?

R O’D goes upstairs to finance dept with his card, then collects from goods out. We then cut to Jason setting up fraim in R O’D’s house.

Probably Jason goes “ok, so here’s Statement …”

I agree. I was particularly interested in RO’Ds observations about ATMOS, and also earlier in the video about rewiring in the spatial stereo effect slider on the desk!

I have often thought that stereo always tops any multichannel speaker array, simply because the more speakers the more difficulty in keeping the wavefront spatially accurate at the listening position.

Thought I would add this here → Part 3
