Being confined to barracks (most of the time) means if got a bit of spare time, on a reasonable cooler day (25c) I decide to gurney the paths. Donā€™t think theyā€™re ever been done before, took me most of the day.

Iā€™m a grime artist. :upside_down_face:

Somewhere in this forum, possibly on this thread, I posted that cows kill far more people each year than sharks. Now we know ā€¦ itā€™s three times as many. :scream:

Looking for a breakfast place today I came across this. Do we get a baby goat or just the child of inattentive parents?

I hadnā€™t realised how far Lounges had spread.
They are very good at finding local connections. I like Keynsham, the first I ever visited.

Things are happening got 4 trades on site today, record. All busy doing their thing. Itā€™s been over year since I cleaned these bricks, finally get a chance to see them relayed. Weā€™ve had 2 plans keep them as is or white wash them.

Whitewash for me Pete, all day longā€¦
Actually, tell you what can be nice and arguably a touch softer, is proper Lime Wash ā€“ it absorbs into the masonry and feels more integral in a way, can get quite a subtle chalky aestheticā€¦

At this stage weā€™re not going to do anything, weā€™ll wait until the other walls in place . Iā€™m leaning more to the wash but the other half has only seen a photo, sheā€™s not sure.

Another advantage of a hydrated Lime based Wash, unlike paint, is that you can fairly easily reverse it, especially if you initially apply in a thin mix ratioā€¦it will actually wipe off. Handy if you start to become unsureā€¦!

Experimenting with the Lime/Water mix ratio, as well as the number of coats, also allows for different finished results re opaqueness/transparencyā€¦ā€¦

Iā€™ve bought an airless spray gun weā€™re going to use that, the white paint has a shot of black in it, you apply it lightly. Weā€™ll do sample bricks first to make sure weā€™re only doing it once. :upside_down_face:

Sounds good, will be interesting to see.

Yeah, Iā€™ve been thinking about getting a Wagner spray gun ā€“ toying with the idea of spraying the roof tiles on this old placeā€¦
Wonā€™t be till after summer thoughā€¦!

A friend is visiting family in WA recons it damn hot and dry.

I paid about $1,300 for the sprayer from Bunnings.

Yeah, it isā€¦!
To be fair, except the week before Xmas, it hasnā€™t been too bad so far this year and seems to be variable dips in between hot stretchesā€¦.Got a 40Ā° coming up in a few days, so another hot stretch to come I guessā€¦

Was out all day yesterday watching the cycling National Champs up at Kings Parkā€¦They were lucky it wasnā€™t a scorcher but even the low 30 was enough when youā€™re in and out of it all dayā€¦and I wasnā€™t even riding!
