Air con all but finished, kitchen started and the tiler beavering away in the bathrooms. Painter, electrician carpenter and plumber on site next week.
Looking good Pete. Are you leaving the brickwork above the window as it is? I hope so.
Yes but it was meant to come to the top of the glass bricks. I’ve been working on how to resolve it today. The fire rated black frames are horrible and will be boxed in.
These and the ones opposite are the original bricks.
Are you fitting your kitchen before the decorators finished Pete?
Or is there some other finish going on the walls above the worktops, tile perhaps?
Good morning, the bench tops won’t go in before it’s painted. The cabinets will be covered.
Ah, makes sense and good evening to you😊
I’m looking forward to seeing the finished kitchen and the colours for the cupboard doors and wall.
I like kitchens and spent ages getting mine right. Mrs Q isn’t allowed in the kitchen😉
The opposite with us. We are planning a kitchen at the moment and I will be surprised if I get much input at all! The kitchen guy is starting to ignore me and focus on my wife at any meetings we have. He knows where the power lies
We were told 6 weeks but we’ve got it in 4, however by the time the stone is measured and cut it’ll be close to 6.
I’ve got a tiler who’s was telling me how much he hated tradies that didn’t turn up, he’s obviously forgotten his a week behind because he didn’t turned as booked. They’ve all got excuses.
Looking forward to seeing your place progress.
Hot off the press from the builder yesterday. Some steels have gone in. We can start to relax a little bit.
Loved that kind of steel, I always wanted an exposed steel beam but it didn’t work out that way, I’m still trying to work out how without it looking like an after thought.
I am afraid that they will all probably be boxed in
Different house different design
The extension of our lounge was done to match the old bungalow, but I had it designed to have a double car port below it. I then ensured that we had some steel beams in it and had them built to be partially exposed.
Comment from my wife, “I like those tiles!”
Thank you.
Well, that’s looking a lot less precarious Badger😅
Hope it was meant too.
This must be costing you a fortune in Steel…!
Fortunately yes. We are going a bit open plan downstairs with kitchen dining and living spaces combined. Partly to make the most of the views out of the doors and windows across the downs. I have some concerns about open living and cooking smells. But we have seen some induction hobs with ventilation systems that appear to suck away all cooking smells. Anyone got any experience of these? Cheers.
