That lamp is just Fugly!
I bet thatâs a REALLY expensive lamp⌠I need to ensure SWMBO doesnât see it or sheâll want one! This is after looking at Fired Earth wall tiles that cost ÂŁ45 each⌠thatâs over ÂŁ900/m2!! I think she agrees that seven grand to have the shower enclosure tiled is a little OTT!
You have a very good negotiation position, Solwisesteve.
The original lamp cost only about 3000 Euros which is not too bad.
Fablicious Lamp, Svetty. Fablicious.

Actually quickly suggested it to âher indoorsâ and she doesnât like it! Sticking to her âOriginal BTCâ.
The lamp is great, the unicorn on the other hand is simply terrifying.
Not sure about the chairs hanging from the ceiling either⌠Where does that come from?
That lighting fixture wouldnât have house room at the Roog residences.
In the UK Supermarkets seem to be doing a pretty good job in supplying groceries by either Click and collect or Home delivery especially for the more vulnerable members of our community. Is that the same in other countries around the world?
Not where we live Unless youâre registered âvulnerableâ then the answer is pretty much no. There are people in our village that get deliveries but Iâve been to all the usual suspects and they all tell me no
I have the same problem - lots of encouraging messages saying that they can deliver, but when you enquire then the next slot is weeks away.
(why does the Naim web siteâs speil chucker object to enquire?)
Itâs the spell checker on your browser⌠probably. Make sure you have the UK English and not the US English dictionary installed.

Will we reach 5000 posts on this topic this year or not?
With Tesco here (in Surrey) they restrict you to making one booking of a delivery in a week and they open the bookings up some time ahead. For example I have just booked 6th Jan and I could have chosen any time slot. But you have to work that far out. Most slots on the 5th Jan had gone when I looked this morning. And I have two bookings before then, although Christmas truly messed my system up so that we have to click and collect next week because there were no delivery slots left.
One week recently I forgot to make a Tesco booking for two weeks hence and when I remembered there was nothing left. But I found that Waitrose had numerous click and collect slots in the week I wanted, so we used them for that week instead. It was substantially less slick than Tesco when it came to the pickup though.

Where I am, by at least a week ago Tesco deliveries were already booked up until after Xmas, and I donât think they do âclick and collectâ. On the few occasions that we tried the delivery service a couple of months ago we were rather disappointed, having unsuitable substitutions and lacking the selectivity we would apply shopping live. That said, if housebound whether in isolation or for any other reason it undoubtedly is a fantastic facility, and I know they prioritise deliveries to vulnerable people.
Ah - I hadnât noticed it on other sites, so assumed it was the Naim website. But it makes sense that itâs the browser, of course.
I apologise for impugning Naim in any way whatsoever.
You can give instructions about substitutions if you want but I usually allow them unless for example itâs wine.
You do get some absurd substitutions though. For example I ordered a roll of sellotape as we wanted to post some stuff to one of our grandchildren and they said it was out of stock so they substituted double-sided sellotape. Another occasion we got fresh Thyme instead of fresh Tarragon, presumably the picker reasoned that the were both herbs and both began with a T. On another occasion we asked for fennel seeds and got mixed spice. You can always reject the substitutions. My wife is better at the cries of incredulity than I am, as she hands back the rejected products!
Yes I know - but not great when you were planning something for day of delivery that required what was ordered. If you were in the shop youâd find a better substitute, which in the case of food might mean changing other things not just the item that proves to be unavailable. Of course, with live shoppers buying food between you placing an order and the picker picking they canât guarantee availability, so it is an unavoidable limitation and Iâm not blaming them: But we have decided it is not for us unless physically unable to get to the shop - when of course the limitations pale into insignificance.
I very rarely ask for substitutions but occasionally they select something better for the same price. I asked for a single litre bottle of still water and they gave me a pack of 12 half litre bottles.
I love the light in this room and the furnishing and the rug match so well. It would be wonderful if a group of young children were in the room since I am sure they would be attempting to ride the horse/unicorn!
