The Grand Cafe

Well that’s been a funny old day. Never been so busy on the forum but listened to no music.
Quick reboot. So long Friday, howdy Saturday.
Hopefully back to normal.

I’d already had an appointment for stomach cramps before my little accident so it was rather ironic and funny. Big brother (Apple) is most definitely watching.

Also cricket starts (your time) tomorrow morning you’ll need an early start.

Robber/pickpocket warning! That’s clever…

Yeah if that’s would it did it would be. I washing the car the other and it had assumed I’d had a fall and want to make an emergency call. Think there’s still some work to do done before they take over.

@Mike_S I see what you mean about the 288/252 thread, apparently the 282 is only a modest pre amp.

My dealer told me the 282 was a stripped down 252, and if going to separates I should get a 252 to avoid any further upgrades :flushed:

I’m saving up for a Statement, bugger all those modest pre amps.

Thats the spirit you get more Salisbury air for your money…well i thought that until i saw them being built. Not much room for air.

I’d love a factory visit but with all that’s going on that’s looking more remote every day.

Pete I had a factory tour in 2007 on my way to Cardiff to watch the All Blacks go down to France in World Cup ( they was robbed ha :weary:)

Absolutely fascinating to see how it all comes together , extremely well laid out , the area that struck me for taking up enormous space in those days was the speaker area.

Had to have all the white gown stuff for body and white covers for shoes etc. The guy who took me on the tour was Steve Hopkins who has now retired, a real nice chap who introduced me to all the top brass

Do it in the future when opportunity comes Pete

Cheers

Maybe @Richard.Dane could organise a zoom tour one day.

I’ve got one, and yes, I find the rings/“stand up now” to be a bit tedious, but I do like other things like Alarm, which I used today to remind me to walk up to the local Community Hospital and get The Jab!

I suppose you can edit the notifications but so far I haven’t figured that out yet. The one telling me to breath cracks me up, I thought I was. :scream:

Having got the Full Monty of iPhone, iWatch and Airpods I can control (from the watch) what’s playing when my iPhone is tucked up in my jacket coz it’s bloody freezing up here in the northern hemisphere, and I had to walk up to my local Community Hospital…,…etc

We have the opposite it’s hot so trying to find an extra pocket for your phones a problem. But I’m responsibly impressed by the ear buds, much better than I’d thought they be. Ha the convenience of it all.

but try fitting them all in your Speedos…

That thought even makes me ill.:rofl:

You’re talking to guy that’s sitting up with a broken ankle, I’m in reasonably good shape for my age (66) my problems are nearly always accidents. According to Mrs Pete I’m apparently clumsy.
