A great interview with Andy Partridge of XTC in the guardian. I know there are some fans out there. The article offers background to his personal struggles and an insight into how they made some of their greatest albums. I had no idea he is almost 70.
I read this - really good
Thanks for sharing Iām a big fan although late to the party. I knew that there were issues but I never knew it was that bad.
For the record Apple Venus Vol 1 is a masterpiece and my favourite XTC album.
Agreed. Skylarking too. But reading the article I realise I have never listened to mummer. I saw them live way back just after they released drums and wires. Of course I was only 4 years old at the time. Ahem.
Iām out walking this morning and playing Apple Venus.
I final,y got an email this morning from Witchhat saying my Morgana is on its way. The Superlumina jumpers still seems to be somewhere between Canada and here after a month, but the tracking just says itās been delayed (it was due this week) but is still on its way.
Iāve had a clean sweep with selling off all my spare gear with the last two items collected by the courier yesterday. Iām really pleased with that as a result, as I thought Iād end up being stuck with some of it.
Once those items that are on the way are here and settled in, it will time to relax and enjoy it all over the summer.
Itās strange that your Morgana has taken so long Iāve had mine for over a month now. Havenāt heard anything re the Spectra speaker cables.
Weāve just left home to head to Gosford to pick up the new car.
Thereās an update about that in their email about a Halloween sale.
Got that email this morning
Website still says January dispatch.
This will probably make you guys in the north feel better, the only saving grace for us is at least itās warm rain.
I always think of the Land Down Under as baking hot and drier than an actuarial conference in Aberdeen on a Sunday
When Brits go somewhere it starts to rain.
Here in Seattle we have been experiencing the opposite during the time frame June 21 through Sept. 21, Seattle only saw 0.5 inches of rain. The average amount of rain during this time frame is usually 2.98 inches of rain.
With all the wild fires we have had a lot of smoke filled days recently and the rain arrived today and is a welcome relief.
Morning Seakayaker interesting as I always thought that Seattle and that region was blessed with lots of rain. I have read that itās been unseasonably dry and lots of bushfires. Hopefully your winter will bring some relief.
Since the horrible bushfires and heatwaves of summer 19/20 weāve had 2 wet and cooler years (itās raining again this morning).
Weāve just had our first clear-all-day since 6 September, Spring has been rubbish really, mostly cloudy and/or wet, but hopefully we have turned the page on that now and things will settle down.
Weāre obviously throwing our rubbish your way, hasnāt rained today and itās reasonably warm but overcast. Iām being to wonder what the sun looks like.
You wonāt get any reminders over here when you visitš Pretty wet for most of the UK today with possible thunderstormsā¦ā¦though it is very mild for October.
I feel very privileged to have been offered a residential placement at a centre that provides intensive physiotherapy.
It starts at midday Monday and finishes midday Friday.
I feel a certain amount of apprehension but hopefully at the end of the course I will be on track to achieving a fitness level I will be satisfied with.
Hope it works out getting fit and enjoying a bit more mobility is definitely good for your health itās good for your mind as well. Does that mean youāll be there full time during the week?
