The Grand Cafe

Probably the best ‘outdoor’ pool I have ever been to….

@Pete_the_painter – you’d be able to float around here with snow falling on your face…at night too…! :grinning:

I now got the Cisco c1000 with internal powersupply and Poe+ running with one c9105 which acts as access point and wireless controller (great that they can do both). I’ve just received a c9130 and will add it if I’ve spare time. My impression is that power consumption of my laptop is significantly lower and I measure the latency times which really dropped versus my old Google WiFi network. Great stuff but not for tech wary people.

Indeed, I suggest wifi products from the likes of Ubiquiti are technically good quality as well, relatively affordable, and plug and play. So you can have good WiFi and not have to be technically savvy., but I suspect your Cisco setup is a lot more configurable should you need to :grinning:. The BT /EE system with their discs is even more plug and play and there does appear much positivity about those products as well, and again they are technically sound. I guess it might help buying products from people that participated and fed into some of the various standardisation processes.

I use Ubiquiti in my home setup with three cooperating APs, all PoE as well.

BTW I assume on your new Cisco solution you have not had to CAPWAP back to the WLC now? You really want to bridge the AP to the local switch for most home networks I suggest… try and keep it simple.

OK, so I saw my Cardiologist today (postponed twice from December and earlier this month, bloody Covid).
Seems I was alarmed somewhat unnecessarily. Yes the problem I now have (Enlarged Aortic Arch) is not to be ignored, especially with my history…
BUT
…It’s not a ticking bomb per se.
I must say, after the consultation today and the clarification, I feel much less stressed and anxious.
She has ordered another scan in April, but it does seem like the change in meds has improved things.
Weight loss and exercise is now very high on the agenda…:face_with_peeking_eye:

It was Pete. I am feeling much less anxious this evening.
Any news on your situation or are you still awaiting tests etc…?

Good news, I could do with the weight loss myself but had two swims of at least 1,000 metres each last week and gardened on Sunday afternoon- that was bracing

Two more swims booked this week and providing weather is decent/ bright more gardening.

No scan tomorrow, had a few bad days recently that’s also making me a bit anxious. Spent most of yesterday with a headache and dizzy spells. Got our daughter in law and granddaughter number 5 staying with us (plus Millie there very gorgeous dog) for a few days. Taking her horse riding this morning that’ll help take my mind off it.

Also my looking forward to my new DAC V1 arriving later this week.

Time to drag myself off to the pool to do a few laps first.

Hang in there mate. This diagnosis phase is bound to be tough, but once you’re the other side of it you’ll have a better bead on the enemy. Then you can take the fight to it. :muscle:t4:
Stay strong Pete, you can definitely beat this… :+1:t4:

I do indeed. The C1000 is the central switch and it feeds the c9105 and c9130 now. I’m trying to overcome a version mismatch since my WLC runs a different version than the new c9130 hence the new AP tries to get a software update and seems to be in an infinite loop. Just downloaded the latest AP software and will bring them to the same level.

Once this works, I’m going to add 2 more AP’s so that we have very good cover (main house, garden house, veranda and one in the attic so that we have good cover in the upstairs rooms too.

Then I really really need to get my fiber connection upgraded from 100Mb to at least 1Gb

lol, we have been discussing WLC matching today at work… yes these days it’s all about software and not so much hardware any more

BTW I think there is a way to upgrade the AP without using its associated WLC, but I guess not really desirable.

I think I need to setup a central place on my LAN where I keep the images. Upgrade should be done by storing the new versions there.

Nasty hey, there’s a news article I posted a few days ago about where he is now. They milk the venom to make an anti vaccine.

We only have the false black widow spider and that can cause some nasty injuries.

The females are smaller (but thicker) and supposed to be the deadliest. Both should be avoided but thankfully since they produced an anti vaccine deaths are very rare.

Apparently that one you posted fangs can pierce a finger nail. :scream:

Why is it that in web sites such as the BBC, in their headlines, they say things like “the Iceland volcano” rather than “the Icelandic volcano” (or the China rather then Chinese etc.)? I have long wondered…

Im an Australian and probably the last person to be ask about the correct English. We’ve spent a lifetime destroying it.
