I can only assume it was cause you mentioned the orange haired one.
It seems to be most of what the media is focused on in our culture. The press, and us as well, spend so much time and energy kicking the crap out of our prime ministers and presidents and inventing new ways to publicly humiliate and insult them, its a wonder they can even do their jobs properly. And of course from our perspective we wouldnāt even really know what that would be.
I suppose the first thing you learn when being a public figure of any sort, is to develop a thick skin.
However I agree wholeheartedly with free speech.
This post is not supposed to be political, just observational ā¦
Thanks Pete. Apologies to you and Mike_S who were awake at the same time, along with anyone else I may have offended with a blunt comment.
If a pictureā¦
A culmination of several negative things which were annoying me over the weekend and beforehand.
Never offended, just thought something had got to you. Noticed a few posts in the What are Listening too thread that I thought may have got under your skin. Think most of us have been guilty of allowing others to rattle our cages.
Good to see you back.
Perceptive. Straw/camel probably, canāt explain it, but I donāt think Iāve ever seen so many ālikesā for a critical post, so on top of other similar factors local to me (neighbours dismissing road signal changes which affect me but not them), late night, a few glasses I suspect I took it personally when it wasnāt intended to be. Hope that makes a bit of sense.
Iām no shrinking violet but my post was out of place.
Until you step on a brick of Lego.
Your Jimny is a far better and practical car than the Range Rovers Charles is driven in around.
Unfortunately thereās always some who think their opinions are of greater value than yours. Ignore them.
Yeah but letās be honest Iād still rather prefer a Range Rover.
My neighbour has one but he is football player. They all are very original and stylish therefore they all drive in the same too expensive car. Itās always grey with black windows and just a bit too big wheels. Next time I speak to him Iāll thank him on behalf of mankind for paying all the taxes which allows my poor kids to go to a school.
They look like a drug dealer or at least a tax cheats car. My Jimny wants to be a Mercedes G Wagon when it grows up.
Iām sure you can afford to give your Jimny a Mercedes star for its birthday. Itāll be grateful for it and will feel being a real Mercedes.
Iāve a bit of a rant night - sorry. I saw too much big cars parked in too small parking spots recently. Tonight was just over the top. There was no point in a certain car I saw. It was like a big American Ford but with a weird logo.
I need a mini. Beautiful cars.
A friend of ours bought a small red tractor to use in his very large garden. He was highly amused when my wife and I presented him with a Ferrari badge for it and the tractor bore the Ferrari badge for the next 5 years.
You can get a kit to make them look like one.
Wow! I didnāt know that.
But you need to remember that a monkey in a suit is still a monkey.
Yes but the wow is not so much for how it looks, but for the fact that there is apparently a market for it.
Iād start with braces and a whig though never mind Iām happy.
Iām with you re big cars in the city/suburbs but I own a rather large SUV (as well as the Jimny) because of where we live and the amount of kilometres we travel.
Certainly Pete. My frustration is for big cars in my tiny country with narrow streets. If Aussies or Americans like to use these cars on their Great Plains by all means fine by me. Itās just that they donāt fit my street and cause trouble for others.
Hmm this is like auditioning loudspeakers. My room, my amp, my speakers et cetera.
But thatās the thing, itās not just wide open spaces and/or for genuine utilitarian needsā¦theyāre bleedinā everywhere and driven by almost allā¦there was an article the other week that stated the top 10 car sales in AU now are all Utes or SUVā¦.
Itās the huge Rams and Ford F150s etc that get me, driven around the CBD and suburbsā¦.Never a spot of dirt on them and often blinged upā¦.I just laugh and do my best rolled eyes look out my windscreen whilst shaking my right hand in a particular gestureā¦!
