When needs must…!
Later today though, I’m back on the proper stuff…!
Yeah mate of mine went there in early 80’s and finally became CEO for the company that built all the freeways and new airport
Made an absolute fortune and finally retired back to NZ yacht building which is his passion
I should have gone with him ha
Missed opportunities, Mrs Pete’s uncles wife is the sister of the 3rd wealthiest bloke in Singapore. Her uncle was offered a share of his company in the 80s and thought it was too risky. Doh.
Wow…
It was a real blaggers paradise also at that time….I remember when I was there a while, I bumped into someone who I was at Architectural college with…and he was working out there on the new airport as a fairly senior job architect (apparently)…I knew from the past he wasn’t the most talented of potential architects, shall we say……As ever, it’s who you know, not what you know…!
Well yeah, you’ve got a good point there. I guess it’s more interesting as a statistic.
Y’know, now that I think of it, the gov’t runs the country mainly by analysing statistics. Kind of explains a lot.
Another fairly good point. That’s what grossed me out so much with the Mad Cow disease thing.
It’s not normal for cows (steers) to canabalise each other, and they were feeding them the entrails of other cows and steers. Its disgusting!!
Unfortunately, of course, its still going on in some places where the inspectors can be bought. Oy veh …
Oh, I get it. Tha very cool. Thanks.
My youngest daughter ate some roo with the owner, while working on an olive farm on a two year visa there. She said it was a bit tough and dry. Maybe it wasn’t cooked as well as it could have been.
Yes if you cook it too long it’s toughens up, like all game.
Here in Canada I’ve had venison, moose, caribou, rabbit, and squirrel. Okay, I was kidding about the squirrel.
One time we made a stew with venison, moose, caribou, and a bunch of flavourful vegies, like turnip (well, rutabaga), carrots, potatoes etc. It was excellent … even our daughters loved it.
Then, one of my employees gave me some moose steaks. I just salt and peppered them and threw 'em on the barbie to a light medium doneness, and man were they good. Juicy and tender, I couldn’t believe it.
I always heard you had to marinate moose, which I find changes the flavour too much.
Ok, I’m now a bona fida Australian member of the Café….
Charlie boy seemed happy enough for me to cross to the Dark Side…!
Mullet growing has now commenced….though as you can see, I have some way to go….
SC
So what perks do I get in here now….?
Congrats still odd that there’s a photo of Charlie there though.
You get to laugh a lot.
That’s him just reminding me that I let go of my Brit passport through cold dead hands…!!
Oh, and to always support the quite obvious superior English teams in whatever sport we happen to be participating in, especially the Ashes…
Now now you can’t have it both ways, you’ve seen the light do not look back.
I’ve been laughing at the new Naim price list…! Think we’re going to have to, sitting down here…
Mrs SC is ‘proper’ Aussie….we sit at extreme ends of the couch whenever there is a sporting event on…probably not going to change!
You’ll get tied of losing and change your mind eventually.
Gosh, you’re almost as tall as Pete
