I create a fair few playlists using software that writes them to my NAS. Useful for the car and general organisation - I have one called Recently Added, which does exactly what it sounds like.
On the NDX I could use the front panel to navigate to the playlists and simply play them from there.
This is completely missing from the NSS333, which is a leap backwards.
Ok, I will use the app. I can find the server and see the playlists and artist folders. But when I select a playlist, there is no way that I can see to go up a level, so I am stuck in one playlist. To fix this, I can reset the app, which is annoying.
Am I missing something obvious?
In the app you should be able to scroll across to Playlists and see your UPNP lists (as well as Tidal etc.). To go back from there, just press the Home button and youâre back to the list.
Thanks, but I donât get any scroll ability. Itâs the Android app. I see Favourites Servers Spotify and so on. If I choose Servers I simply get the last playlist. If I reset the app then I can choose a server and then get a list of playlists. If I hold down the playlist that I want then I can play it. Then Close goes back to the list. But if I click the playlist then it opens that and there is no Back option.
On Android you can use the little â button at the bottom of the screen to navigate up a level. Thatâs a standard Android button and not an app specific button. I am not sure if these navigation buttons are enabled by default in Android. You may have to enable it in the settings.
All the 2nd gen streamers (eg NDX2, 333) work differently to the 1st gen models in that when browsing, all comms are between the server (local, Tidal or Qobuz) and the Naim app. The streamer itself doesnât get involved until you hit the play button. So the front panel display and remote control cannot be used to browse these inputs. This may not be your preference, but thatâs the way it is.
