I see today Mike’s brother has nearly new listed again at £989 with the free to sign up VIP discount if anyone is looking.
This is my first post on this forum. After heavily questioning Naim’s original RRP for this little integrated and now having read through nigh on 6600 posts in this thread I have ordered one to see for myself what the furore is all about.
I have never owned Naim so have an open mind about the sound. At just over a grand I can absorb the cost (just) and re-sell at a perhaps 200 or 300 quid loss if things do not work out.
I can see that many here don’t even blink at spending £1200+ on this, quite a few just buying this as a ‘filler’ whilst their multi thousand pound systems are either being serviced or moved to the drawing room or library. Some happy to spend nigh on £700 on a power cable for it.
Each to their own of course and I am not trying to insult those with money.
Others are (repeatedly!) stating how good it (50) is and that it is the equal or better to their (far) more expensive systems, occasionally even replacing them. Heck, some even buying two (three?) of these.
Very few here, probably to be expected, are not Naim enthusiasts, either in the past or at present. I am probably the exception but at the same time prepared to accept and praise if this product trounces my current rather modest amplifiers. In addition, my room is relatively small (3.3 x 3.3 meters) and I predominantly listen at fairly low volume. My speakers, a very well looked after pair of Mission 752 Freedoms (serviced) are easy to drive, efficient floor standers which have been with me for a long time and they have survived sound battles with more expensive and recent speakers, not least a pair of lovely Stirling LS3/6 BBC References Ltd Editions which I came by accidentally and far cheaper than new RRP.
I’d be lying if I did not expect a bit after online reviews and praise here but we’ll see.
I don’t have a Nait 50 but have an original Nait 2. I would be surprised if the Sound was not an improvement on any other modest system
wow - that takes me back - I had a pair back in the day - I seem to remember powered by a Sugden A21 for a while - rather enjoyed them
Hi @DM111 welcome to the Naim Forum. I am sure that the Nait50 is a great introduction to the world of Naim. Feel free to share your impressions here once you have installed the Nait50. The forum is very helpful and contains lots of tips, both big and small. I have learned a lot here myself. If you like, you are also welcome to share a photo of your system in the ‘System Pics 2025’ thread. This thread (Click here) is very popular. Enjoy your system!
What?? Nait 50 is end game! ![]()

come on - it is perhaps for some of us .. but lets be honest for many of us its been a bit like a Bilbo Baggins journey .. ie there and back again. ![]()
Home hifi is great hobby/pursuit and I would always recommend anyone serious into recorded music replay experiment and if they can or have the means try different systems over time and enjoy their various qualities - many have their own pros and cons - I would say there is no such thing as one universal system or even make that excels at everything.
Nait 50 , NSS333 + 555PSDR, Super Lumina speaker cables, Lavender and Tannoy Eaton just sounds beauuuutiful with jazz
The presentation is so there with the band! Love it ![]()
Should be interesting.
Yes please ![]()

Welcome DM, cracking speakers you have there, reckon you’ll enjoy the little terrier, it’s sounds good from the off but does improve with a bit of running in when it becomes a bit more fluid.
I’ve found one of its biggest knacks is to somehow make music sound like when you first heard a track, makes 80’s sound more 80’s etc, don’t know how but it does.
Enjoy and welcome once more.
I appear to have bought a lovely pair of IBL’s. I know IBL’s deserve, some say need at least a 250 to perform at their best, but has anyone tried them with a Nait 50?
Looks like you are going to write forum history.
I don’t have them yet, going to be some weeks until I can collect them.
Yes,works very well with both IBL and Linn Kan.
That’s good to hear. Never owned a pair before so looking forward to getting them.
I spotted your quick decision on PF, the IBLs like the SBL/SL2 should sound great on the end of a N50.
Thanks HiFiman. I was fortunate enough to have been on PF soon after they were listed. Did you click the link to the photos? They look in very tidy condition, and the seller is delivering them for me. ![]()
