Very surprised finally because I found it so sweet so smooth so warm more than I was expecting. Lots a details, great soundstage, bass still a little boomy and of course dynamic and well more balanced than the Nad. I had an Uniti Atom and with the same speakers it was harsh and gave me listening fatigue, I sold it. At this time I do absolutely not hear the same sound from the Nait, far more civilized and comfortable. More pleasure and sweetness.
Totally agree with you here @Jubeph, take your time get to know NN50ās strengths and weaknesses, do your homework and when the time is right choose the right streamer to partner with it.
I bought my NN50 mid November 2025 and now I think Iām ready to buy a new streamer for it (currently I am using an MXN10 that I already had in hand).
You likely need to pull those speakers out to let them breath⦠remember bass on speakers emanates in all directions from the cabinet, not just the āfrontā.
These still cost ā¬3k here in Spain, I got mine off eBay for ā¬1550 from a dealer in France when they only had two left, theyāre gone now. I wouldnāt (couldnāt) fork out ā¬3k for one but at this price and knowing theyād soon be gone, I jumped at the chance. Iām so glad I did. Running it in now in my downstairs system, itās a fairly big space but no sign of strain from the little one comfortably punching out some beefy room filling sound at 9 oā clock on the lovely volume knob. Just had a blast with Chuck Prophet āWake The Deadā on CD
Thank you!
Their great pair of speakers. I have them about 60cm from the back wall because they have a surprising amount of bass in this room. A lovely midrange with the top end rolled off a touch whilst being engaging.
Iām actually reluctantly considering selling them as Iām in a top floor flat and a bit considerate of my neighbours beneath me, so looking at a pair of standmounts.
Thank you. From your feedback they sound like a good pair of speakers, especially at their price point. I might be wrong but I think Rega now offer the cheapest (list price) UK-made stand mount speakers (the Kytes) and the cheapest UK-made floor standers (with the AYA) currently available. IMO thatās quite an achievement and is surely due to investing in cabinet materials/designs (the cabinets are even UK made) that have numerous advantages of traditional rectangular MDF enclosures. Also making drivers in-house possibly helps keep the price low too?
Regarding selling them - could be worth investigating a base to isolate them from the floor - might help reduce bass going into the household below.
I can recommend the Rega RS 1 speakers ,works fantastic with the Nait 50.
ā . They aim straight to the target and this behaviour reminds me of the old Naim Nait 1, the (chrome bumper) Naim NAP 250, the Rega Planar 3, the Linn Index and the Naim IBL loudspeakers of the good olā days.ā
Good few hours on the Nait 50 now. Started off with the Q Acoustics Concept 300 connected, had a great time! Then I switched to the Heed Enigma and flicked to another radio station where Sinead Oā Connor was doing a cover of All Apologies and my jaw just dropped! Vocal floating in space, the quality was goosebump inducing.
The SN2 is going to have to be the one that decides which of those speakers stays. I suspect Iāll still be in the opinion that the Q Acoustics are the slightly better all rounder, but the Heedās have moments like that, where itās just utterly engrossing and magical.
This morning I moved the 50 to the living room with the KLH Model 5ās and have been giving its phono stage a run out. Itās good enough to have no need to use the excellent Heed Quasar. The Technics SL-1300G & Ortofon Concorde Black sound so good, it exceeded my expectations.
The chrome bumper with the silver Technics is a visual treat too!
My friend popped over with his Neat Petite classics and we had them on the end of NAIT 50.
They were seriously impressive and worked very well in the room, so just given me a little food for thought but will look into your suggestion.
