Just wanted to share some good news, regarding my Nait 50’s volume range issue. 
Last week I mentioned the following:
“I just tried to lower the output by around 10db, in the audio settings of my Node Icon, but if I set the volume slider to 100% after that I can hear the difference, compared to the full 100% fixed modus. (the latter sounding better)”
But, …last night I lowered the max. output on by BS Node icon with 15db and then, instead of having the output signal still set on adjustable and moving the volume slider in the app to 100%, I ‘ve now set the output signal to fixed. (I first thought that setting the adjustable signal to 100% would achieve the same result as having the output set to fixed, but… apparently it doesn’t.
With these settings I can now turn the volume knob on my N50 to 9 o’ clock, for average volume level, and so far could not detect any loss in sound quality. So, …happy as can be.

I have one more question if I may; If I connect one sub to one speaker only with a high level cable as instructed it will only get the bass signal for one channel … . Am I getting this wrong?
There are different views on this but almost all lower frequency bass signals are mixed to mono so it should sound the same whether you connect to one or two speakers. Technically it’s possible that there is the odd record that mixes stereo sub bass signals but I’m not aware of any
If you have the option to connect to both without too much hassle then you might as well to make sure you’re not missing any information, especially if your crossover is high
So even if a Bass instrument is only on the left channel through my speakers (jazz records) and the sub is wired to the right speaker it will get a signal? I am confused. How would I wire one sub into both speakers? Thanks
I am also looking at this older Naim forum thread which is not exactly clear about the optimal options either. Starting to regret having ever considered this

Apologies to de-rail the Nait 50 thread, I probably should have started a separate one.
If you’re concerned then go for the designacable, especially if you know there is sub bass to only the left speaker. The reality is it’s unlikely to have no signal to the right and so the sub will pick it up anyway (even if its mixed more to the left)
