The new NAIT 50 Limited Edition

Do you really need a supercar, when you can stay at home and listen to music?

:o) youā€™ve got to love spellcheckā€¦

Assuming you are streaming said music volume levelling in Roon does a good job with these disparities - no cost so worth a try at some time. Well assuming your after consistent volume!

Local library and streaming via Roon, but Iā€™ve got a remote so Iā€™m happy to do my own music volume levelling :+1:

I wondered if you had a Naim-equipped Bentley?

Sadly not, a B&O equipped BMW is the limit of my mobile audio, though I can dream and actually sat with the test drivers in a Continental for a listen at one point in the past ;o)

My mistake, its actually Harman Kardon in the i3ā€¦

I was staying with a friend a few years ago who had a Chipmunk aeroplane at Goodwood. We used to see any number of Rolls Royce cars from the neighbouring factory being road tested. If you got one behind you, it was a bit like being chased by those Warrior armoured cars used by the Army!

Iā€™m guessing you mean on the road in the surrounding area, rather than taxiing on the runway ;o)

Yes, they just used to emerge from the factory, and onto the public road. Rather laughably, some sported fake (hardboard) panels - to disguise the shape - which was a bit silly, as all the locals used to see them on a daily basis.

Going between artists I probably donā€™t realise Iā€™m getting up to change the volume level, a bit of exercise plus an excuse to grab another tin from the fridge

Sounds like a NAIT 3, but even betterer!

Gotta keep those steps up

Anyone used, or will be using, Rega RX1s with their Nait 50? Not sure if theyā€™d be a good match or not.

Also wonder if anyone here is gonna be using a Planar 50 with their Nait?

You have to love this little beast, it just plays the music so well. I would like to imagine that it has caused a similar buzz to the release of the original Nait but of course we donā€™t have any reviews from the ā€˜professionalsā€™ and there are unlikely to be any (unless they have put the hands in their pockets - max not too!). I do hope that Naim realise that there is a market for small shoebox integrated amps and are willing to release a Nait 50 ā€˜liteā€™ to attract the younger enthusiasts at a lower price. Not everybody wants the convenience of a Uniti system.

Nice pic!

Connecting with your product is a strange thing. I almost always change volume with the naim app on my 552. Convenient indeed. But every time I put my hand on the volume control on the 552 and increase the volume itā€™s a direct feeling that reminds me about throttling my motorbike. It connects in a totally different way. I can understand if a great part of the emotions going with the Nait 50 is you get up close with the product and work with it  Bit like the emotions with vinyl. Digital control via apps and ā€œinvisibleā€ products are convenient but at the same time boring if you like hardware and interaction.

If it sounds anything like the HK system in my 3 Series then it will still sound excellent.

As BMW ā€˜optional extrasā€™ prices are generally extortionate, the HK upgrade is the only one I have forked out for that I consider exceptional value for money, at about two thirds the price of an optional sunroof!

I will be trying a 50th anniversary Planar 3 with the Nait, just waiting for Rega to sort out a replacement cartridge as mine turned up with a wonky cantilever.

Thatā€™s cool. Have you chosen what vinyl youā€™ll listen to first?
