Sorry to hear that, do you know where it had spread to? (Please ignore if it’s not something you want to divulge).
You may be correct that it will be controlled and something else will see you off, but it’s still a huge thing to come to terms with due to uncertainties
3 people I know well (forum members aside) have unexpectedly discovered they have prostate cancer this year.
Diagnostics are definitely improving matters, especially multi parametric prostate MRI when there is suspicion, but any form of cancer is a horrible thing to have to face.
Ultimately good news so long as it’s not getting bigger I guess. Tiny things quite often, but can unfortunately cause significant and irritating symptoms.
Was any non-surgical treatment considered/given? How often do you get follow up scans?
Took dearly beloved go a rheumatology appointment. Since retiring she is finding knitting and crochet painful, the occupational therapist suggested using a USB charging hand warmer. Therefore this is actually a question, does anyone gave experience of these, prices seem to start about £7.99 for multiname/generic online items up to £30+ for a Hot Rox. Reliability, consistent warming, life expectancy? I admit if it was hifi and my purchase I would probably stump up for the Hot Rox. Any comments please?
Sorry to be pedantic but that’s ‘ryokan’ without i.
Riyokan is probably how gaijin ( Westerners ) would pronounce which is wrong.
I miss Japanese spa very much. Especially the outdoor ones like you have experienced. Nothing better in a quiet mountain side or by the sea. That’s one thing I miss living outside of Japan.
That’s the second time now. From experience I have found that people who say ‘sorry to be pedantic’ or ‘I hate to be pedantic’ actually rather enjoy being pedantic
Flew back to Luton airport from Israel yesterday. Driving up to the barrier of the long stay car park, the machine demanded an additional payment of £120 for overstaying the booked period. Actually we were within the period, so I challenged the demand. I was told to remove the ticket and the barrier was raised. This is not the first time this has happened to me - it happened a couple of years ago at Bristol airport too. I wonder how many people just shrug and pay? This is an awful con.
At the begining of the appointment, the doctor said that from their studies, a lot of patients only remember about 20% of the information, as there is so much, and the circumstances. Consequently, I had to look it up.
The cancer was in the left internal iliac node, and the left retroperitoneal node. Apparently it is very unusual for it to jump past other parts nearer the prostate. That was part of their concern.
Honestly @crispyduck I’m going to have to block you in future- these elementary errors are absolutely ruining my enjoyment of your posts and fantastic photographs.
I needed to remove the differential from the Granada but as you can imagine it is heavy (45kg ish) and not evenly weighted. It would end up falling off the trolley jack and being damaged or me being injured. So I came up with a plan!
This is one of my wheel dollies for moving the car around the garage. I cut two holes in it with my plasma cutter, one for the jack saddle and the other to access the long bolt that goes through to the boot floor.
They actually stated on their website that they did all work to MoT standard.
I’m almost ashamed that I got conned - the first bit of work was really good and then my trust and confidence set in. Nice and chatty, said all the right things and got me involved in the early stages. And I just fell for it.
