Things I’ve done in the last 24 hours, version 2.0

This is from the Met Office for today.

Seriously sunscreen? :joy:

Created a 3D model of home in FreeCAD

If I’m honest it has taken a bit longer than 24 hours.

This time of year I would never dream of leaving home without it……..plus sunglasses, ice pick & snow boots.

Us Binos are not supposed to leave home without it and especially so in low Winter sun. I cba paying for it or carrying it around as I carry enough low vision crap around so I basically have to ensure that I have gloves on my hands, some kind of neck covering and a peaked cap at all times. The alternative is quite literally sunstroke within around an hour.

I’d have been tempted to just buy a dolls house  .

Today’s complaint (sigh) is to HMCTS.

Very much looking forward to tomorrows day of minding the 22 month old. Light relief in comparison.

I took out insurance for my new house (I get the keys in a couple of weeks). The best quotation offered by Moneysupermarket was over £6,500, 47 minutes on the phone to John Lewis specialist got me a realistic price.

Blimey is that per annum? Is house insurance that expensive in the UK? I thought here was bad - just got my renewal for next year at just over a €1K up from €820 last year

It can be, especially if there are ‘issues’ with the property, and such ‘issues’ can be minor in the big picture, and even volunteering higher XS’s won’t mitigate the premium much. My aunt’s very modest 3-bed EoT house is being quoted at £1350 this year (building + modest contents), with a subsidence XS of £2,500, and some endorsement (TBD) regarding a tree on the kerbside near her which the local council have declined (more ‘refused’) to husband effectively.

It includes contents, and collecting glass sculpture has a significant impact on the premium. I got it for £1,600 going direct.

Well that’s an improvement, my problem is that my house is a protected structure and most insurers won’t quote for it so I’m very limited when it comes to ‘shopping around’. Anyway, I don’t feel so bad now although I do consider Insurance to be legal extortion, minimum risk maximum premium seems to be the motto.

Ouch! I’ve just renewed ours for £293. That was a very slight reduction on last year, as was our car insurance.

I’ve had my semestral visit at RadioTherapy yesterday. My PSA has risen to a level where biochemical recurrence is a fact. I’ll have a PET-PSMA asap, but I must now consider myself a guy with C cells somewhere.
I’ve always known that it wasn’t over with RP and RT. I didn’t want HT (those who know these abbreviations will understand, the others may as well ignore them and live happily). Now I’ll have to decide for it again. Shall I live longer as a sort of woman with menopause or choose for myself :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: ?
Best to all,
M.
