The Agony And The Ecstasy.. ![]()
Hi Max
Very sorry to hear this. The reality is that there are treatments that can keep you alive for quite a long time. Take the advice of the consultant once the scan results are available and live life to the fullest. I doubt if no treatment is a better option.
Phil
Max medicine has come along way in past few years, they’re making new breakthroughs regularly. I’m not supposed to be here and I’m not planning on going anywhere soon.
Stay tough.
I get the very strong impression that you are a very resilient and determined person.
Hang tough!!
My very best wishes
Ian
Pete, Felipe, Ian,
thanks for your words. Yes I think I am more resilient and tough than I thought
.
I have the PET-PSMA on December 19. I’ll post my Season’s Greetings to you all and too myself then!
Best
Max
Hey Max
I hope the scan gives you a good result. At my last appointment, they said that by the time the current treatment that I am on becomes less effective, there will be new meds available.
Best wishes
Max
Max,
I don’t know you and I am a newcomer to this forum, but I send you my kindest thoughts and best wishes
D
As others have said, treatments have changed significantly over the last few years. Many are less harsh, have fewer side effects, and are more effective. With a modicum of good fortune, this will be the case for you.
Repaired the 1.6.m deep groove left by the restoration experts when they extracted the old bushes the wrong way. ![]()
Looks like this now.
This was how I found it.
Got discharged from hospital. Mrs Willy collected me. I had preprepared a map in my head of all the public toilets on the route home but in the event managed the 1hr drive.
Already have a rake of appointments over the next couple of weeks, including the pre-op assessment for lasering Rocky and a CT scan to see where we’ve gotten to so far.
Chatting with the consultant I suggested that it was likely my surgery would be after Christmas. He replied that that was probable but that a lot of people cancel appointments in the run up to Christmas and I might get a cancellation. Game for that.
Only concern at the moment is a further reduction in my kidney function, all still down to the right one. Hopefully we start to see that improve.
Pleased to hear you are back at home.
Was Zhukov pleased to see his sidekick back?
Makes loads of sense. Fingers crossed ![]()
MWatBR, DUUH, paulbysea,
thanks, I hope so too and really appreciate your thoughts.
Well, somebody has to keep us Brits up to date with the scores from the Ashes! ![]()
Day night game gives you more opportunities to watch, starts at 2pm here (3pm Qld time).
Hi Max - sorry you’re facing another major challenge. Pleased that you didn’t leave the forum as you intimated a while back. So many people here seem so have gained a lot of love and support through various illnesses and woes. Rooting for you ![]()
Thanks bad yogi.
Mark Twain used to say ‘Giving up smoking is the easiest thing in the world, I’ve done it thousands of times’. It must be just a little easier than quitting the forum
.
Seriously, I was tired of spending so much time at the Mac, I presently have no Naim piece of gear except for the trusted lavender cables. The new Classics are not of my interest and I thought I had said all I had to say about my relationship with Naim. I was feeling like a parent at a teenagers’ party.
But learning about other members’ medical experiences has been a source of awareness over the years. Now it’s my turn, and the friendship and support I felt here were indeed special. So ok, I’m not commenting on the latest box but as long as I am able I’ll post about life and its (bad) moments.
BTW, I haven’t ceased to do Wordle each day, I’m much more trained now so Dave Marshall better watch his shoulders… ![]()
Best,
Max
Well said, my man. There’s much more in here than hifi or indeed Naim.
All the best Max, as others have said treatments have come a long way, I hope you get a good result.
