Walked the circuit of Cap Ferrat from Beaulieu-Sur-Mer continuing on the lovely undulating sentier litorale. Tranquil yet rarely more than 200m from the gilded palaces of old money, the nouveaux or, inevitably, oligarchs.

Finished building this DJH kit. Painting it was stressful but I’m pleased with the result. Happy to move onto the next project after working on it for the last 6 months :+1:

That looks fab great work. :+1:

If it’s any solace, I took my 81 y/o aunt to the eye dept of a large local hospital yesterday. She has regular check-ups for glaucoma and, it now appears, developing cataracts. Appointments booked at 3 and 3-30pm – she departed at 4-50pm, frazzled and without the newly recommended drops, as she just wanted out. Seems she got away lightly!

How long are you around for?

The hike up the old funicular track from Monaco to La Turbie, the above the Grande Corniche above Eze and then down into Nice through the Parc des Oliviers, is a splendid way to spend 4 or 5 hours (and work up an appetite).

I can send you the route if you like…

Thanks Rod - very thoughtful, sounds (and looks) great but we’re off to Menton tomorrow morning. Cheers BC

Popped along to see Ridley Scott’s Napoleon, more episodic than I expected but maybe the hinted at longer version coming to Apple TV might be more linear.

This week I’ve been trying out pneumonia and I have to confess I don’t really think much of it. All it does is makes me feel knackered and every breath has to be won. So today I finally gave in and got some antibiotics for it. Hoping to be rid of it soon. Makes me wonder how people cope with COPD et al.

Thank you for the well wishes guys.

I have Mrs (Dr) G looking after me. She brought her stethoscope home and has been monitoring me. This morning she heard crackles in my lower left lung and immediately got me sorted with some antibiotics. I’m being told by Mrs G that my ob’s suggest I’m compensating beautifully and I should get better. Well that’s a relief.

Time for music.

Tesco currently has whole/half shoulder for half price with Clubcard and Sainsburys 50% off with Nectar for leg of lamb (a nice change the other day).

11 days later the owners reclaimed the sheep. Not neighbours but a couple of miles away. No idea how they got so lost

Baa’d luck?

It’s been a really bad week here. The things I can mention are:

  1. Black cat Pippa died :frowning: not all that old 10 years but she had cat hiv
  2. A fox got 10 of the 11 chickens
  3. five calves have died at daughter’s work and her own calves keep escaping (angry neighbours)
  4. Other annoying events that I can’t mention but have really upset my younger daughter (the farm worker)
  5. Oh and Archie bit my hand and drew blood yesterday morning

Did go for a haircut today though and the stylist claimed to have had a really awful month with 3 hours of power cut and 3 weeks with no internet. No sympathy from me :joy:

In the plus side my Naim systems are sounding much improved. Really pleased with both of them

Thinking of renaming myself GrimOopNorth

Those things do sound rather grim, sorry to hear it’s been a tough week. Hopefully the sheep will take the jinx away with them.
