That’s funny (he’s not though).
Yes, I have lived in Seattle since 1996. Woodinville is lovely suburban neighborhood area.
I worked at North Shore Medical Center down your way back in 87/88 for 13 months and enjoyed the area during the late fall through early spring but a bit too hot the remaining part of the year. I did enjoy going bar hopping on the Intercostal Waterway a couple of times. It was exciting one night, it was right before Christmas, when we did get stoped by the a drug enforcement patrol boat and inspected. They were heavily armed and professional and had us back underway in no time at all.
I did love exploring the Florida Keys…
Having lived in several places around the US I have found the Pacific Northwest climate works for me for activity, sailing, seakayaking, motorcycle riding (younger days), and hiking… And the year round climate is also a bonus.
The Keys are great, but I’m also smitten by the PNW. However, it’s so expensive that it makes Florida look like a bargain.
…it is expensive but just to the west of me in the University District Neighborhood their are four large 20 story Condo/Apartment buildings going up so someone must be able to afford this never-ending expansion. My wife and I were fortunate to purchase our house in 2003 and have lived through a couple of downturns along with a nice upturn during out time here. Hopefully we will be around long enough to enjoy another upturn as we contemplate giving up the house and downsizing some time in the future. Cost of living has been much higher than other parts of the country but the variety of activities and lifestyle accommodations have been worth it.
Hopefully you can get out to visit your son for a couple of weeks during the dog days of summer.
We visited for the first time last July. Next time will be in the fall, after the grandson arrives (fingers crossed).
