Tidal: Naim App versus iOS App

I usually play Tidal Hi Fi using the Naim App, so presumably it streams direct from the web to my Nova.

If I use the Tidal App on my iPhone and choose the Nova as the output, is it then streaming via the phone and reducing the SQ, or does it still pull the signal directly from the web to the Nova?

No, if you use Chromecast the Tidal stream still goes directly to the streamer, not via the iPhone. You may notice a few differences in functionality (for example, check how the volume control works as some Chromecast implementations do this badly)
