In the last few weeks, I have been unable to stream TIDAL on either my MuSo or N272. Spotify works fine, as does iRadio, but when I try and select a track from TIDAL via the NAIm app, it allows me to add tracks to queue and then says “track skipped” and doesn’t play.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Naim app on my iPad and that forced me to re-log into TIDAL, but the same error exists.
What firmware version is your 272 on? You need 4.8 to be able to use Tidal since Tidal changed their authentication a few months ago.
And can you log into Tidal using the Tidal app and your phone?
The fix that is normally suggested if your firmware is up to date is to log out of Tidal in the Naim app, then log into Tidal from a browser on your PC or whatever, then change your password. Then go back to the Naim app and log in using your username and new password.
I thought the Tidal authentication change was made about 2 years ago!
But that was going to be my question also. If it is the Tidal authentication issue, I wonder why some people have been getting away with it for so long, i.e. why have most people had their issues over a year ago (and updated their firmware) and some people are only seeing issues now? Just curious…
The firmware fix for it has been available since 2021?
Thanks all - My firmware is 4.8.0 and was updated years ago when if first came out, but this issue is with BOTH my NAIM streaming products
I have tried David’s fix of logging out in NAIM app, changing password on website and logging back in, but no joy. I can log into tidal on app on both phone and iPad and can play tracks over device or streamed to Bluetooth
Yes you are right that the change was announced as “imminent” about two years ago, but I believe that there have been further changes since which the 4.8 firmware still accommodated and each time we saw a few people coming here to get help. Often their firmware was not up to date. So it’s something to check when trying to suggest things to someone with a problem.
As his Muso isn’t working either, it probably is a network issue but you have to start somewhere!
try playing a Tidal track using airplay. This can solve a similar issue with tidal connect so worth a try.
If or when this fails. Log out of tidal both in the Naim app and iin the tidal app on the device you use to control your Naim apps. also remember that there is a max limit on how many devices you can be logged into at the same time. this is as I understand it a Tidal limitation.
