Tidan on audirvana and hi-res

If I play the same song on Tidal via Audirvana I have these differences, depending on whether I play a song identified as MQA and a “normal” one. Does it mean that with Audirvana it is possible to read the Hi-Res format?
My version of Audirvana probably identifies everything as MQA.
If I say something stupid, forgive me.

answer ( on MQA Settings - What do they do? - MQA - Audirvana )

Audirvana 3.5 integrates the MQA Core Decoder that performs the first unfolding (up to 88.2 or 96kHz) to benefit from the high resolution of the MQA audio files even without an MQA audio device. By MQA decision, the second unfolding (to 176.4 or 192kHz) can be performed only in a MQA renderer/decoder DAC.

You don’t say what bitrate/depth "normal file is? Regardless, three possible explanations come to mind:

  1. Audirvana can do first “unfold” of MQA files. So you may be hearing MQA first unfolded agains whatever is the “normal” one.

  2. If it’s not unfolding, then you could be hearing the difference between the normal file and an mqa file

  3. And regardless of whether the mqa file is being partially unfolded, do you know if the two files are the same mastering? If they’re not they will sound different.
