Hi,
Does the Naim Unitilite have a built in phono pre-amp.
Can I connect my turntable directly to my Unitilite.
No, you will need a separate phono stage between the turntable and the Uniti analogue input.
No, you’ll need a phono stage to eq and bring the signal up to line level.
When you state Uniti analogue input is this the phono out 4 pin din connection at the back of the unitilite
The DIN4 is the pre-out. You want to use one of the sets of RCA Phonos - there are two pairs of sockets forming the two Analogue inputs, AN1 and AN2;
Ok, Thanks all clear now.
Just for future info can you inform what connects to the Din 4 pre-out connection.
Yes, you would use this to connect to a separate power amplifier.
Sometimes the turntable has a built in phono stage so you can plug it in directly
What sort of turntable do you own ?
I am just going to connect a Pioneer PLX 500 which has a built in phono stage, however I also have a Rega Fono MM which is not being used so thought this would be a better phono

Would this be an improvement?
The Pioneer will connect straight in then, although the Rega Fono MM is a decent little phono stage and might well be un upgrade - no harm in trying it out.
When I had a unitilite, I used a Rega Fono phono stage with my LP12. It worked very well and for the money I don’t think the Rega Fono can be beaten.
