Loosing metadata isn’t the issue. Yes some CD cover images seem to be missing but, other metadata is in place: tracks, genre, artist, album etc are as they should be. It is the actual edit metadata functionality that I no longer have - the ‘select the album / click the elipse button / edit metadata’ physical option isn’t available.
This option has always been available on the app; I’ve never needed to use a PC to access or edit the Core.
It would indeed, including screens shots of version numbers. If you have an apple phone which you mentioned in post #1, iirc David is also an apple user and has good experience of the Core.
Perhaps also detail as to whether you have an internal HDD or SSD fitted to the Core together with its size and free space, or if you use something like a NAS.
OK here goes… (and thanks for your thoughts on this)
- I’m an Android user (although I did borrow an iPhone to check whether it was able to see what my Android couldn’t)
- I have an SSD fitted
- Size is 2TB or which 1.4TB remains
- I’ve previously supplied version numbers but I’ve attached acreenshots as requested.

Thanks for the screen shots. Unless one of those who have responded to your thread has an Android device, the best advice is to email support at Naim and reference your forum thread.
Apple here - I occasionally have access to an android device so will check at the end of next week.
Just to say that I agree with that. I am using Apple here and it’s all exactly as I always expect here (I just checked again). The metadata availability for new albums isn’t great and Naim knows about that issue. But the editing works fine.
Thank you, it is appreciated. Something weird and wonderful is going on but I can’t get a handle on it: missing artwork (metadata may be there - I have to check - but I can’t see the artwork in the app), many duplicates of the same album have appeared and of course the missing edit metadata function on CD’s that I ripped using the Core.
It may be worth editing the thread title to include ‘on Android app’

Apple user here too. If you haven’t done so already, I would again suggest you contact Naim support for assistance.

Hi Richard. I note you’ve edited the title of my post to include Android app. If we’re looking for better accuracy / detail, could I ask you to also alter ‘editing metadata’ to ‘missing metadata (& delete) function’. The first is causing responses relating to the physical editing (not surprisingly), the second will hopefully help anyone else who find the feature of edit & delete missing on a rip.
FYI… have raised the issue with Naim support so fingers crossed.
