Unhappy with the new NAIM update

I think that is quite possible.

I’ve removed some posts. Would members please be respectful of others and refrain from ad hominem posts.

In particular, please respect the work of the Beta testers, which they do diligently and also voluntarily. For that I feel they have all our thanks and our best wishes. Please remember that they cannot discuss the Beta work publicly, so please refrain from trying to goad them into breaching confidentiality. Thank you.

Yep, highlight the word/phrase and then ‘Look up’ from the displayed options….Depends on your installed dictionaries though, sometimes a separate google search is more detailed….

Helps keep up with the Latin from those Public School boys at times…!

Getting SO tired of this wait…

Well, reports so far that I’ve seen are very positive, but we’ll see it when Naim are happy to release.

I’d rather hear it… But I think that’s what you mean…

You can tell Naim to take all the time they need (if it is in days / weeks Region). The patch must be a winner - expectations are high and naim will do best.
Even if I am very tired of waiting as well, I can and must wait. Really would like to avoid pressing the button on alternative options… so all time for naim

There was a beta release recently but I have no idea if it’s what y’all are waiting on or not

We are all waiting for a FW that does not sound harsh and aggressive in a fluctuating way (day by day and album by album)

This speculation is all so very reassuring regarding our Naim ND££££ streamers.

I can’t hear anything that is wrong with the latest FW update. All sounds as good and as stable as it ever has, if not, maybe even a little better than before. Certainly nothing negative anyhow. Weird… I don’t get it…

And that is the same for me, I really like it, so it might be something close to a tolerence boundary somewhere. we don’t know…
But you are correct the firmware works very well for some, possibly the majority, but not others… it feels churlish to assume that it is simply down to individual taste however.

In my case I am certain it’s not an issue of taste. If that were the case it would be consistently not to my taste.

I find the FW update has produced an extremely positive improvement in sound quality, not a subtle change, really very noticeable. The problem is the lack of stability as it changes back and forth between absolutely superb and quite unlistenable.

What has been done well seems to have been done very well, it’s the instability that needs to be addressed. I truly hope the baby isn’t thrown out with the bath water on this.

Trust me - there is something off. And they way it is off all 14% feel the same.
