Yes. The sound is still very good but there is an early digital type character to it which wasnāt there with 3.8.8.

Oh dear ā¦ thatās a description I had in mind all the time. It sounds too digital. Detailed a punch, but much more hifi than I preferred.
With my question I meant, the remote and app going unresponsive. Do you experience that as well?

The new FW is not bad, but is really different by a not small amount. And as I was forced to deal with it, I am not in happy music Christmas mode 
Have to get active next year. Also had 2x nd555 seen for sale - both updated sadly. Yes - I would buy one with 3.8.8 fw when I find one. I am serious ā¦ 
No, I went through 3.10 also which was very unsatisfactory IMO.

What kind of DAC/streamer would be a good choice to get the earthy togetherness back. Rossini sounds tempting but I think it could also be a different approach in signature
Not sure if itās the talk here but have been reading about DAC alternatives, and had gone from a 222 to a 332 and using my office Atom HE. I was meant to stick there for a while and audition alternatives in the springā¦. But I just had a cheeky offer accepted on a Linn Klimax DS/3 Organicā¦. So getting a new streamer after Xmasā¦ā¦

How does the innous pulse work for you.
Did it bring back the āold soundā - can you even tell without knowing if there is something wrong with your system.
Even if do not have any space left to put him, he might be an option I can demo him, as there is dealer nearby.

If there was ever a reason to stick with good old CD and vinyl this is it. If you are not happy with what you have then sell up and go with another hi fi company. Sometimes I think that Naim as a company should think long and hard about having a forum at all. Linn decided to close theirās down. Not done them any harm.
Maybe Rega had the right approach all a long and decided to leave streaming alone. They also do not have a forum for all the moaning.

A very interesting choice. I understand it can be used as a preamp and power amps plugged direct into it.
Not sure how it works with your phonostage but with Linn Lp12 Urika 2 phonostage can go straight into it.
Look forward to hearing how you get on with it.
Believe power supply can be upgraded to Utopik as well. Modular DAC and power supply. So you can keep ugrading it. This is where Linn have thought things through.

I was happy with what I had and had spend a lot of money reaching it. Agree on the forum. But most of the time (all the time) it is the add on naim gives us.

You could try that, Audiophileo usb to spdif converter, the best on the market, between Innuos and Nd555 digital.
Some here went that route.

It was mainly a test as another way into my system without the Naim streaming part, rather than a serios replacement as of now.
At my Dealer I tried an Auralic device and the Innuos. The Dealer probably correctly thout the former had more potential for an eventual replacement if I was thinking that - but I was looking for a quick and easy to drive (for me) unit which did not have the sound balance of the present Naim FW.
The Dealer used ND555 into their S1 Pre-Power and although it had an overall āwell-litā as some say balance, or on the bright side, it did not have the fault I was hearing - more on that later.
My Dealer is very good - set it all up and let me play each option. The Auralic sound balance was very similar to the Naim one but the Innuos was far less bright and softer, so I decided to borrow that item.
I took the Mini and though the Dealer said if I did go further the higher moder from them was significantly better - but this was a test and not a big āchange auditionā, which I still hope to avoid.
The Innuos feeding the Digital 4 input on my ND555 does put the sound balance back like removing a āslopeā up to the high frequencies and it sounded more correct for my system.
But is was also less detailed (it is not a top model) and I had not configured the Ethernet to it as anything special or its power position, although I did use a Powerline plug on it - the two-box config on the Mini.
But I still had this sound fault āfizz or frying egsā effect. I may have a faulty Analogue 555PS which I noticed emitted a mechanical fizz/buzz sound when I power-cycled it just now so that may have the fault - this impacts all my results so take that into account until I fix that.
If at some point I am strong enough to un-do the burndies on my two 555PS and swap them over then I can bypass the suspect stage and see if things change - and arrange a repair.
But I have (on another thread) been playing with Mains blocks also to investigate any improvement to harsh effects, as I know this can happen and especially with ND555 and two PS.
I just found (given I still have the fault) that plugging the digital PS next to the analogue PS and not having a socket gap as I had dod before was much better for the sound balance.
Iāll report some more details a bit later on the other thread about the Musicworks block.
Not exactly how Iād intended my Christmas, but I like to know what is going on.

A pity youāve found an album not sounding to your liking at 01:04.
In photography we call this pixel peeping, forgetting the picture and focussing (too much) on details.
Have you considered looking for another test track sounding better than before?
Iām pretty certain I have a faulty PS - so fore everyone else that is reasuring! 
But it is good to hear you have no such noise - hope. 
ā¦but as long as it donāt cause more damage once I get to confirm the perhaps I can use the FW version with some ātweaksā with plug and mains blocks and perhaps a less bright Ethernet cable (Vodka to Diamond) ahead - but that is dreaming positive (but possible) until I nail my prticular faut I have here which is overlaying its effect onto my results.
