Have had this problem a few times with new cd’s, can rip but metadata not recognised even though I can view the data on Musicbrainz, discogs etc. I end up with an unknown album with a numeric name appended. When I try to edit metadata from the app menu the screen just goes blank. On other recently ripped (but not new) cd’s editing metadata works as it’s supposed to.
The cd’s mostly causing the problem are Prog Magazine issues… I have taken to ripping these on PC using MediaMonkey as flac’s and running through MP3tag to tidy up metadata before copying to Core Downloads.
The core is fully powered off when not in use, and after ripping or transferring files I usually power cycle it to ensure data is properly viewable.
Has anyone encountered this metadata problem?
