Just curious, how many are still using and enjoying their Uniti Serves and HDX’s?
Also, do you tend to keep these on or turn them off when not in use?
Thanks

U/S working well here, switched on 24/7. Accessed via NDS, ND5XS into NDAC, and more recently, Primare NP5Mk2 which uses the NDS as a DAC.
Sold my HDX last year, it worked for 14 years but needed a replacement 2TB hard drive towards the end of my ownership. It was left switched on permanently. The only exception was for thunderstorms.
Still using Unitiserve through NDS, and keep it switched on 24/7.
Sold my hdx to a friend last year. Use a zenith mk3 as server now - he is a bit better in my ears. Had a melco n10 once on demo and preferred the hdx as server only (sound wise).
Hdx is a wonderful machine. Mine was on 24/7
Serve in use. On 24/7
Looks like some of these were sprinkled with pixie dust when they left the factory, and many are left on 24/7!
I still use my HDX, but rather as a backup. I purchase second hand CDs and rip them onto the 2 tb ssd. It‘s usually off.
The HDX has so much versatility. I’m sure it’s a very good cd player (as is my U Serve) if nothing else.
These units are designed to be left on all the time and the advice back in the day that they were current products was to only turn them off if you were going away for more than a couple of days or if an electrical storm was imminent.
My HDX has been left on 24/7 for over a decade, except for holidays and power cuts.
Loved my HDX - it replaced a CDX2 (with no downside from my perspective). It was a great introduction to the 21st century! Traded it in last year for an NDX2 simply to avoid obsolescence and lack of spare parts.
My HDX died last year after 11 years service. I left it on all the time.
One day I must hook it up to a computer screen to see if it does anything at all but I think it is totally dead/doesn’t even start to power on.
I had enjoyed my HDX for about 10 years when it died. This resulted in changing out to an Innuos Zenith mk3 and a Chord Qutest about three years ago. The improvement in SQ surpassed my expectations . Also my wife complimented me on the change out. Now waiting for the arrival of a Holo May KTE to move things forward. The changeout will be in January and I will let you know how it goes
It’s usually once every 10 or so days I use my Uniti serve. So I turn it off.
I had it serviced last year. Replaced the drive, battery and a few bulging capacitors - so I’m fairly confident when I do go to turn it on it’s alive and well.
I have a large stack of CDs recently bought that needs ripping..
UnitiServe here, switched on on demand only, i.e. off most of the time. Works nicely, takes a minute to be fully available through the app.
