Had my first ever problem tonight with my Star display. Display stayed on, even after turning off with remote. Couldnt or wouldnt play spotify. Eventually got radio to work then started behaving.
Does anyone know if the 2 hour automatic display turn off function has been removed? I have my Nova set to never to go into standby and the display (if set to stay on) would go off after 2 hours of non-use. Now it stays on permanently unless it is set to go off, in which case, it goes off after a few seconds.
I have by now used two identical Nova’s in the same setup. By this I mean two different serial numbers, both running firmware 3.3.0.4300. I can confirm that, from the user perspective, the new firmware is patching up the problem: it has apparently introduced a regular self-check every few minutes, which wakes up the frozen screen. In my case at least, and with server functions on, it is a coin flip if after a multi-hour sleep the screen will be frozen. But even if it is frozen, it will wake up a few minutes later, all on its own. This is suboptimal and certainly looks like an emergency firmware repair, which does not address the root of the problem. Naim still needs to find out why the screen freezes to begin with, when either of the latest two versions of the firmware is installed. What changed, compared to firmware 2.6 which could be causing this issue?
