But I can’t sound any music as radio always searching. I try to update 4.9 many times but same result, i also to reset factory default and network and it does same result. I aslo ask help from your china agency and no correct suggestion.

So i have ask your professional help and find reason of worry updating. My unitilite S/NO 398504 and run very good for Iradio version 4.7.

Thanks

Others have seen this issue. I believe it was @davidhendon who explained how to fix it. Thanks David.

Thank you HH.

Firstly if you have seen “Success” on your PC after the update then you are on 4.9 ok and you don’t need to try to update it again.

Secondly you should delete all your favourite stations in the Focal/Naim app. Just highlight each one and select delete. One after the other.

Thirdly the main problem is to stop it searching for a programme that no longer exists. In the app go to the “Now Playing” screen after you have selected “iradio” . You do that by tapping in the bottom of the screen. You should now see a screen that will tell you that it is trying to connect to the last internet radio station you used before the update. There will be a link or underlined words say “stop reconnecting” or something like that. Tap that link. You should be taken back to the internet radio menu page, but if not, just navigate back yourself. And if you wait for some time, up to maybe a minute depending on your internet speed, you should then see the Internet radio menu top structure and you can then navigate within the geographic region for the station you want.

If none of that works, then I suggest you do a factory reset of the UnitiLite. But you will have to re-enter your WiFi details if you are using it on WiFi. You do the factory reset using the remote control. Press the spanner/wrench key and navigate to factory reset. I’m not near my Naim at the moment so can’t check exactly where that is but I think it’s within the Status option. The reset will take half a minute or so.

Hi,David,
Thank you for your help and professional suggestions. I tried your 2 suggestions and finally to reset factory default and turn off and on wifi router, reset wifi pin code, and contact CHINA MOBILE home network to reset they network again, unfortunately I still not search any Iradio from pops, CNR, regions/states, Browse China, Naim choices, etc. After some time searching and show no resulting later. I wonder may be the reason unitilite from buying EU? or network setting of such as DHCP( YES to No?), MAC, or changing system status?

I also plan take the unitilite to my friend home to change other network to check network problems of my home.

I still to wonder other reasons from your experience, thanks

I try reset factory default and wifi pin code, and find it automatically present 5 iradio channel of naim Radio, Deepvbes radio, radio paradise, 4mbs classic FM, Kcew eclectic 24, but still no sound and no matter replay again.

You need DHCP set to yes unless you have a special reason to set a fixed IP address and you know how to do that properly.

I don’t know whether there is some Chinese firewall reason why it isn’t working for you, but from the Naim perspective, it doesn’t matter where you bought it or where you are now, it should work fine.

Section 4.7 page 19
Check that it says “status connected”.
If it says “not connected” then you will need to set it up again on your network.
I assume you only have access to WiFi?

Thank you David. It was the ‘stop reconnecting’ step that I could not remember. The OP mentions continuous searching, which made me think it was this that was the issue. Maybe it still is. It much be very hard using translators to fully understand the nuances of this. Let’s hope the OP can get it working again.

Thank you of David, I connected your dealer of Beijing and Guangzhou in China, they confirmed they could received iradio programs after updating version 4.9 but new unit , so I think not firewall problems, which version4.9.40 which I choose such far east, west EU,etc?

Thanks, hungry, I cleared all and stopped searching cycle, but it still could find programs even automatically 5 presents such naim radio and radio parades, etc.

Thanks a lot, I have connected wifi carefully, but i find special topic from your guide as follow:

7.4 Adding iRadio Stations

The Naim Radio Guide web site enables iRadio stations not included in the standard list to be added for download to your Uniti Series product. To access the web site and add stations follow the steps below.

  • With a computer connected to the same network as Uniti Series product, browse vtuner
  • Enter the identification (ID) of your Uniti Series product on the web page. The ID is the unit’s MAC address. This can be found via the following menus: Setup > Factory Settings > System Status > MAC.Note: You can register a username and password so that the MAC address is not required on any subsequent visit.
  • To add stations follow the My Added Stations link and provide the information required. Click on the arrow to complete the procedure.
  • The added station will then be visible on the Naim Radio Guide home page.
  • To access the stations on your Uniti Series product, select the iRadio input then select Added Stations.

Dear David,
Do I need to set MAC ID to VTUNER as above showing?

No that whole section of the manual doesn’t apply now because the vtuner service ended and firmware version 4.9 replaced it with a Naim service. You can’t add stations in a Unitilite but there are thousands there already.

Hi @YING.ZHANG

Can you post the mac address of your Uniti. It’s shown in the Naim app:

The above is from a Muso QB1, but its the same platform / screen.

We’ll enable trace on the server to see what is happening between server and your device.

Thanks Steve, my MAC of App is different from yours, how can I to change?

The last CF:45 is unitilite name,

You can’t change the MAC. It’s the identity of the hardware. Steve wants to know your MAC so that Naim can try to trace what is happening from their end. So giving him the MAC address is all you needed to do, except that it would also be worth leaving your Unitilite switched on and connected to your network with Internet radio selected so that Naim can try to find it from the server end.

Thanks,David, what reason if my unit? It is crazy for me. Could you find unitilite to update and find reason?

I think Steve just wanted the MAC address to “enable trace on the server to see what is happening between server and your device.” Let’s see what it brings back.

I updated my UnitiLite a few weeks ago and the instructions I suggested a few posts back were based on my own experience. Anyway as Richard says, wait for Steve to reply.
