Hi - I have a UnitQute that I just moved to a new house. The new house is fully wired and the UnitiQute is connected to a synology nas (423) by ethernet. When I look at my synology nas with my music on it from my macbook air, everything shows up. When I try from the UnitiQute - it just says empty… Advice appreciated.
Have you updated the firmware on the UnitiQute? If not, what version is it running? You can see the version in the Naim app or using the wrench key on the remote and go from there.
But my guess is that your NAS has updated firmware which doesn’t work with the Unitiqute. But having said that, I don’t know of a change that might have been made in the NAS and would cause a UQ any problem.
Do you see the Synology server in the UPnP input, but with ‘empty’ contents, or is the server not showing at all.
Maybe worth logging into the Synology and making sure the server is enabled and running normally.
Do you see just the contents of the folders on your Mac? This is not the same as the UPnP server scanning the files so that you can browse and play them on your streamer.
TVs often have basic UPnP streaming capability, so if that, as well as your Uniti, is not working it again suggests that the server on your NAS needs waking up.
Thanks to all - I got the tv to recognise the Nas content using a wired network connection (other tvs in the house are fine with wifi - no idea why). Need to go to the other house to check the UnitQute. Watch this space…
