I have swapped my 39 year old Harbeth speakers for a pair of Beomaster 6000. The choice of speaker is mainly because of the space available. Here’s the question: The B&O speakers are fed from the pre-amp output because they are active speakers with their own amplifier built in. This means that nothing is connected to the Unity’s speaker output. I know that some power amplifiers don’t like an open circuit - is this the case for the Unity?
The Uniti will be fine just running from the pre-out, although long I/cs aren’t ideal (keep to low capacitance).
Thanks for this. Is l/cs a low level cable with the phono plugs? I got the Wireless World circuit of the year award for a class A design in 1975 but I am not up to date with the current terminology!
Yes, a low capacitance interconnect.
