Unity ATOM wet noodle edition.

Hi, i have the Unity ATOM “speaker” edition, so not the “Headphone edition” ,

I recently bought a HIFIMAN he1000 stealth headphone that i use for my playstation 5,
to boost it i use Soundblaster g6(just to get started) on the dac/amp scene, and ps5 is picky with these things,

ive never used headphones, im a speaker only guy, so i tried to insert the soundblaster G6 in the front usb jack of the ATOM, and nothing, didnt detect it, and the 3,5mm jack sounded like a wet noodle,

Question is, what are my options for boosting my headphones on the "regular Atom, i understand nothing of all ports on the backside, i dont now wich route to go, and its a + if the solution can work for my ps5 aswell, ps5 only accepts USB 1 .

With the HE Atom editon out, the youtube sources gets flooded with it, so i cant find any tips and tricks on the topic, its needle…

Teach me, not English, beacuse im Swedish, i mean, teach me something here so i can learn more about my unexplored side of the ATOM,

I’m almost certain that the USB ports are inputs only, there’s no digital output from the Uniti Atom, so you cannot use it to feed your Soundblaster G6 digitally.

Here’s the spec from the Naim website. Though it’s a bit unclear about the USB ports I’m sure they’re for external storage you can use the Atom to play from, but not audio outputs.

Your headphones deserve a good source, how open are you to swapping your Atom for the HE plus a power amp?

What speakers do you use?

And do I understand correctly you want a headphone solution that you can integrate with your PS5, outputting sound via its USB sockets?

I assume your wet noodle comment is the Atom’s headphone output without additional external amp.The only analogue output you have from the Atom are the headphone socket, preamp out, and speaker out. To use a separate headphone amp you will have to attach to one of these, most likely the preamp output (RCA) to analogue input of the headphone amo. If that too low a level try the headphone output (3.5 jack).

#Yes, mega bonus if something works with the ps5 aswell, ive seen som Schiit devices that has more input/output options then the G6,
#ive read some other post here on the topic, it seems like it is a lost race here…

ATM i have better sound in a G6 on ps5, using Spotify,(no Tidal on ps5) , on the HE1000 Stealth, then my ATOM with Lintons, well almost, the bass isnt there…

P.S Dont tell anyone about the ATOM/Linton combo, its a cheatcode.
