I have both unity nova and star , both took the recent firmware upgrade and crashed spotify
after factory resetting the pair it appears that chromecast is gone. it won’t connect with this in re booting the units but then plays spotify directly without it.
Nova here.
Update went perfectly for me except an odd message at the end about chromecast disabled due to update server unavailable. Something like that.
But everything works fine, including chromecast - once I enabled it as per settings. Odd.
wont let me re enable it but it mainly connected spotify for me and that seems too connect ok without it
If you want Chromecast back, then I suggest a Power off restart of your Nova. That often does the trick.
I wouldn’t use chromecast for spotify even though you can if you wanted to - use native ‘spotify connect’ built-in. Separate things.
Chromecast I only use when I really need to get something off my phone - bbc sounds (just because curation is bbc comprehensive there), or youtube. It’s the ‘miscellaneous things’ useful feature. (Sorry for potentially mixing subjects.)
that makes good sense, it defaulted to using chromecast when it was there but the spotify connects better without it ,I will think about whether I try and get it back because for me it currenty works better without
