Hi.
I was reading through the instructions for updating to firmware version 4.9 and it says to check which version of firmware and software is currently installed.
I pressed the spanner symbol on the remote and went into factory settings. However I cannot find where it says “Firmware version” and where it says “Software version”.
How do I find the current firmware and software versions?

Thank you for the information.
Among the instructions there is a page titled “Streaming Products” and there is one column headed “Type” and one headed “Update”.
Under update it says “Version 4.8” and under “Type it says software”, and then under update it says “Version 4.9” and under “Type” it says firmware.
Are software and firmware interchangeable terms?
After checking I am Version 4.6. Do I have to install versions 4.7 and 4.8 before version 4.9, or does version 4.9 also contain 4.7 and 4.8?

Firmware and software are often names used to talk about the same thing and in this case it is. If you’re on 4.6 you can go directly to 4.9.

Thank you for all of this information.
If I go straight to version 4.9 will the updates contained in versions 4.7 and 4.8 also be donloaded into my NDS, or would I have install versions 4.7 and 4.8 separatley to benefit from the updates in those verions?

4.9 is the complete package containing all software changes made to date.

4.9 is as Roberts says the complete package including the earlier updates.
