Hi. After updating the firmware to 4.9, playback of files from media(USB/PC) does not work correctly. After about 3-4 seconds of playback, it stops, and then the file starts playing again. This is repeated approximately every 4 files. Has anyone ever encountered such a problem? There was definitely no such thing on iOS 4.8
I would suggest you do a full factory reset on the SuperUniti. Then try again. If the problem remains, try reloading the firmware.
I think before he does either of those things, he should do a power off and then on again of the SuperUniti. That may fix it.
If he saw the green tick on the updater program when it finished, then there will be no point in doing the firmware update again.
Thanks for the answers. Yes, of course the update was completed correctly. And I’ve tried resetting the settings too
Probably worth restarting your PC too then. I haven’t heard of any such problem with 4.9 on any streamer and it works fine on both my SuperUnitis (but I don’t use the USB input).
Having my first good listen to the NDS on 4.9. I’m trying not to compare, just take it as it is. So far, so good. I’m enjoying it.
I’m leaving mine on 4.8 since I don’t have need of the updates in 4.9. Risk mitigation
Btw, have you evaluated Audirvana with your NDS? I know you preferred native NDS over Bridge II but me being back on Audirvana since my Bridge II is away on super modification have realised (again) that Audirvana is a really good step up on NDS. I believe the sound signature will suite your taste better so I recommend you trying it out if you haven’t It’s 100% NDS, just squeezing more out of it.
Yes I played Audirvana with a Sonore/Bubble UPnP bridge. My system never sounded better but I couldn’t get on with controlling it via laptop. I should try it again.
With hindsight, the Bridge II hasn’t had a fair crack of the whip cable-wise.
You’re using Windows or? I’m on mac (M1) and their app works good for me. I’m running Audirvana server on a old macmini without a screen just like I normally use Roon on it and then use the Audirvana remote app on my laptop and on the iPhone. Might have to do an Audirvana vs Roon sonic test when the Bridge is back.
I’m on Windows. The app worked fine but I had to have my laptop fired up to listen. Maybe that was the Bubble UPnP server bit. It did sound very very good.
Yes you would need a dedicated computer always running for best user experience (like Roon)
I would describe it a bit like putting high octane fuel into your car. The NDS was on steroids, but in a good way.
