Actually, I use a NAC252DR in my second system together with a NSS333 and a NC250. It’s working great.

A 252 Supercap DR with your 250DR will be superb. The NDX2 with 555PSDR will be a great source.
Later down the line try to get a 500DR which will work great with the above preamp and source. It’s a much better power amp than the 300DR or 250DR.
However, the 250DR and 300DR are great power amps.
I had the 52 with Supercap 2 and 500DR and it was wonderful.
I have heard the 252 Supercap DR with 500DR and it sounds really very good.
I could have lived happily with 52/500DR. But 552DR/500DR really is the best, as you’d expect.
Get what you can at the right prices. If it was me I would prioritise a 500DR over a 552DR.
If you’re going to be making big changes to your system, it is surely worth thinking about a 200 series setup. It does have a different sound to OC, which might not appeal. But it might, so auditioning a 200 series setup first would seem a sensible course of action.

Hi, is a retrospective DR upgrade as good as new kit e.g. is a DR upgrade on a 2007 power amp done in 2021 as good as a DR piece of kit bought in 2021? Thanks, Mike
I think the general consensus on this is yes.
The DR upgrade gave people effectively new components with warranty.
At one point I believe there was an option to upgrade to DR without servicing at the same time - I don’t know whether those units would require servicing earlier - someone else may advise.
The one I’m looking at wasn’t serviced at the same time (or any time as far as I can tell).
Best thing would be to contact the factory with the s/n and ask for the service history.
